Surprised to find no mention of Gran Turismo in the directory above.

The 5th installment, not counting prologues, is being released in November in the USA although Im not sure if we will get it in Aus then as well. Often we are many months behind.

Any fans out there?

Anyone elsed planning on getting into this new one?

the prologue to 5 is the best game i've played on the ps3. the ONLY game on the machine i've not been disappointed with. online is a bit laggy and silly, but the game is so beautiful to see and the controls are superb.

i remember when it first came out, before i got the lcd tv, i watched the demo (just some spinning camera of a car in a nice background) in a sony store window for the amazing clarity and detail. actually it's TOO good looking, i don't know how many times i lost concentration of playing by the distracting beauty:D

looking forward to 5. might wait a bit to buy it, as games get really cheap (online) only after a few months. it will be really interesting to see if they improve the online game and for the first time in a gran turismo, the game will include vehicle damage.

the GTs are epic games, i only really played the first one right through. those endurance races were killers. you'd literally have to play with full concentration for an hour or more solid.

haha yeah I remember those enduros. We had a team of us and would make it a weekend thing with plenty of speed to keep us going and changing drivers etc. haha I had forgotten about that. Great memories.

Funny you mention about the quality of the game and scenery etc.

When the first one came out my mates and I were in shock at how realistic things were. That of course was in comparison to what other games had to offer at the time.

I have been told there are two new wheels available that i may have to look into. One has a gear stick that can be moved to the left hand side and also comes with a clutch so that would be brilliant.

Another has some extra controls that allow you to make suspension changes, ie hardness and softness as your driving.

I cant have both so Im leaning towards the movable gear stick as that will allow me to drive a touch quicker because I can drive like I do normally instead of having to drive like an american every time I get in. (Ohh I get in because I built a support for the steering complete with racing seat and what have you so it sort of looks like your actually getting into a car................well an open wheeler anyways...lol.

I could never get my cars to drift even taking a corner at 80 mph it would still follow the tires. something is wrong there.

what tires are you using, and do you have the driving aids on?
i can get a silvia to slide and oversteer easy at a lot slower than 80.
you cant drift in a non-RWD car, if you're using 4WD its a lot harder, and FF its plain not possible to drift.
if you wanna drift, use comfort or sport hard tires, and a RWD car. turn off traction control, ASM, and the other aids (other than ABS, i play with the ABS setting left alone, otherwise i always have all the aids off), go into a corner, brake while you're turning in and get on the gas some.

I don't have a copy of the game anymore. I only borrowed it. The only game primarily involving vehicles I've ever been enamored with is Midnight club 3. It's no sim but I like to make my cars pretty. but not like need for speed because once you buy an itme you unlock it which is lame.
