If I was to say goodbye...

I would go back in time
spelunking that darkness
which was once our mind

I would replace the memory
of carelessly burning pine
with trees dancing in the wind
of will and fortune,
next to the memory of exhilaration,
learning to ride a bicycle
without Dad around

Maybe then I will remember
that I need momentum
to find any balance
in whatever the fuck this is

I would erase memory of
our skin on fire
So maybe I could
experience it again
for the first and
the last time

I would help you disguise
your soul from the lies
of your self-imposed shortcomings

I would tell you that
happiness and suffering
are nothing but decision

I'd probably change
your middle name
to "Alpha Beast"...
just to troll you

I'd help you realize that
only in your eyes
can the light of others
be reflected

And my favorite reflection
was always yours,
Therefor, I will not
erase this memory of us

Someone once told me that
Happiness is only real
when shared
and laughingly we're paired

However I will selfishly hide
a token of our laughter
in the deepest place I can find
in the darkest places of our mind

I hope you remember our stupid jokes
especially after some heavy tokes
don't hesitate to laugh alone
because it will always bring us home

I won't promise not to read
the diary entries of which you bleed
because this is not goodbye
oh beautiful being, this is 'Hi'

Because now I must disappear
and come again another year
another time to reassess
all these memories we posess

I've immersed myself in your mind
These lines were all I could find
They come from your future nightmares
an older version of you
sitting morose in the rain
thinking about what is true
the painfully obvious message comes through
that someone through the toil
someone out there, still loves you

I won't read any of the things
you didn't want me to
and if I am the only one
I pretend nothing but to promise you
only you are the one
who can make dreams true

I won't promise not to read
the diary entries of which you bleed
Because now I must disappear
and come again another year
another time to reassess
all these memories we posess
They come from your future nightmares
an older version of you
sitting morose in the rain
thinking about what is true
the painfully obvious message comes through
I liked the whole piece - I loved these.

It's great dude!
