I wonder if anyone can help went round my brothers last night and he had some shiny gold powder. He said it was an E but crushed up I had a dab and it did not taste like E so we railed a couple of lines there was a little burn in the nose but nothing like E and the powder had a little buzz we were smoking some dank weed and to be honest all it did was level me out. Has anyone come across this substance before if so what was it many thanks

Hey tunesey, ID threads are not allowed since nobody could tell you over the internet what that was. I suggest to buy a Marquis Test-Kit to check your drugs.
In the days of countless Research Cheimicals I personally would never take any pill or powder without testing it beforehand.
