TAMPA, FL -- Whether his name is a blessing or curse the man named God Lucky Howard was arrested by undercover detectives for selling cocaine in his neighborhood.

If the delivery of cocaine charge isn't enough Howard is charged with the delivery of cocaine near a church, a school and public housing near North Avon Avenue in Tampa.

After obtaining a warrant Police searched Howard's home and found an additional 22 grams of cocaine and a scale.

The investigation began toward the end of April and led to Howard's arrest Saturday.

Howard remains in jail on $86,500 bond.

those extra add-on laws are bullshit. youd have to get your clients out to the middle of the desert in nevada to avoid them

i think we see the extent of America's drug war mentality. we'll arrest anyone to keep those filthy things off our streets... even GOD!
 
Just terrible - this fellow's selling such small quantities, and now he's got a world of shit on his shoulders. This is supposed to make all of us "safer?"

I met dozens of folks in similar situations while locked up - 10 grams here, 35 grams there. Almost all black, all poor, all struggling. Where the fuck is the justice in that?

I thought God would be selling more interesting drugs.

I wonder how long God will spend in prison? The penalty for even an ounce of cocaine can be very harsh in some places.

God should have no problem getting out of trouble, and would have never gotten into trouble if he was lucky.



Was that his birth name, or did he change it? What kind of parent would name their child God Lucky?

Almost ninety-thousand bucks bail for less than five-hundred bucks worth of coke. This country sucks, man. That's almost 180x the street value of the cocaine. How can anyone justify that?
 
It's so high because he was near a church and a school, don't think it had much to do with his race, honestly.
 
Agreed.... but then what is a suitable punishment for making money on others addictions......? 1 month, 12 months? This guy is looking at 5-25 years in jail. And you know he will unfortunately get closer to the latter number......Thats fucked up for the quantity he had.

Even if you don't agree that the harsh sentencing was to do with his race, you can bet his race had a fair bit to do with him finding himself in that situation in the first place.

Am I to understand that the psychotics that run America give you a higher sentence for selling NEAR A CHURCH?? What kind of a sick joke is that? A school I can understand, but a place of worship?? Who gives a shit? And does this apply to churches, mosques, etc (all religions and denominations) equally?

Fucking self-righteous religion subscribers.

I am intrigued, if someone can enlighten me that would be excellent.

What should happen then for possessing just shy of an ounce of cocaine? Just a ticket and let him go? Of course you go to jail for that. 8)
