(to mods: sorry if this is not appropriate section/forum, feel free to move thread :))

Recently I used glycine with piracetam (as nootropics month course). After that there were left a lot of glycine and I continued use it for sleep because I had some problems after abusing stimulants, alcohol and etizolam for weeks. First I wanted to get melatonin because it can help too but (suddenly!) apothecary said it is regulated drug for few years now and I need recipe for it -____-
So I returned to glycine.

Question: is there any possible dangers about overusing glycine more than instruction advises (2-3 weeks for treating alcoholism, 2 weeks for problems with sleep, etc). I already use glycine for 6 weeks or so (not everyday though) but I never exceeded maximum day dose (which is 0.6g or 0.8g, can't remember right now), usually I use 0.1g before sleep, rarely 0.2g, very rarely 0.3g.

Should I definitely leave glycine and make a break? Can I mess my inner balance of amino acids or do something to my nervous system? Or it is ok to continue use it?

Don't get me wrong, I'm trying to decrease my alcohol usage, frequently eating veggies, etc. I am not trying to find my perfect easy sleep drug without doing anything except of this. I just think I need temporary and accidental (as I said, I didn't use it every day) help for sleep. And glycine seems like pretty safe and natural product for this purpose. And it is very cheap here.

Any thoughts?

Ah, btw, another plus of usage is I become more calm on the next day after sleep with glycine. Usually I can quickly become irritated if something disappoints me or make me nervous.

I've found the "examine.com" site helpful with researching supplements. They have info on glycine, which you may have seen:

Ornithine is another interesting amino acid with potential effects on healing and detoxification. Positive sleep effects studied were secondary to accelerating alcohol metabolism.

I have read that glycine even at high doses like 60 grams is still safe but glycine's safety has not been fully tested or studied. If I were to use, i would always stay on the safe side and not take high doses ofc.
