Before I open my eyes I can tell how bright it is in our room. How late could we have slept? What time was it when we finally fell asleep? How many people are in our bed?
I force my eyes open and look at the man in front of me. God, he's beautiful. What did I do to deserve him?
Last night was amazing. Funny how a such a small pill can have such a huge affect. We swallowed, shared a kiss, and then promised to find each other in a bit. We mingled with the friends that had come over to spend an evening in our new home. About 45 minutes later, the intense euphoria washed over me. I looked up and scanned the room for him. Our eyes met, I saw the smile on his face, and I could feel his soul pulling me to him. On my way through the crowd Amber grabbed my arm. "I feel great," she tells me, so I take her hand and lead her to the other side of the room. "Hello gorgeous," he says to me. He puts his hand on the side of Amber's delicate face. "How are you sweetie?" She tells him that she's wonderful and the three of us retreat to the black-light illuminated den.
Amber immediately stretches out on the feather bed. "I love this room," she muses. "It's so 'user friendly'". We laugh and sit down beside her. Immediately the massages begin. My boyfriend starts chatting, as he always does. Amber mentions repeatedly how gorgeous we both are. She kisses me. She kisses him. We all smile, and continue to massage.
But now it's 3:45 pm the next day. And as I look at his sleeping face, I wonder if he's dreaming about what we shared last night. I reach up to rub the ache in my jaw and accidentally elbow the person behind me.
"Ouch," Amber whines.
My boyfriend opens his eyes.
"Good morning sunshine." And then he smiles.
"Wow."
I have found with him true ecstacy. We don't need the drug, but when we use it, it adds a nice glow to our life. A glow that lasts much longer than the 4-6 hours of the little pill. We remember with fondness the amazing things we're able to share when X helps us to lose our inhibitions. It brings us closer to our friends. It brings us closer to each other. And we didn't even realize that was possible!
He's always glowing to me now. Every morning when the sunlight dances across his face, regardless of what we did the night before, my first thought is always "God, he's beautiful."
