Harm Reduction GHB dosage / tolerance question

Maybe just a quickie but I'm not used to measuring liquids but I have this to go on:

The concentration of the G is 0.52g/ml. One vial contains 2.6g of pure GHB

As well as the Erowid dosage page (including its warnings of overdose, etc).

Thing is I have been taking benzos of late - mainly diazepam. Not overly much but a little, will there be cross tolerance?

Basically I'm looking for a safe way to try this as it will be my first attempt if you will - I don't want to overdose and haven't had any diazepam today but I have these vials - what say ye? A teaspoon full? The whole vial? All five vials?!?!?! 1/4 of a vial?

I was thinking I'd just put it to the tip of my tongue and wait half an hour to see that I don't keel over and die or have some allergic reaction but from then on I'm unsure.

Sorry for asking - if you can point me to "the big GHB thread" that would be beautiful, I can't search the forums for "GHB" as three letters is too short (would make the SQL query too hard on the BL servers if lots of people did it).

A good starting dose for GHB in most people is around 2g - so a little less than a whole vial. If you are doing this for the first time and are paranoid, there's no reason that you can't drink half now and half later (in 2-3 hours) if you like the experience.

I think the worst that can happen with 2.5g is you'll get "the spins" or maybe have to lay down for a while.

GHB does not work on GABA-a like benzodiazepines or alcohol do. That said it will still potentiate any sedative effects so I would not take it with more than the minimal dose of benzos (assuming you have a stable habit). If you are not benzo dependent, and haven't consumed BZD's within the past 12-24 hours, you're probably good to go.

Thank you very much! I don't appear to be allergic so I'll give a half vial a go and see if I get anything out of it, continue with the second half in an hour or so if it seems to be my thing.

I was under the impression it did work on your GABA-a receptors which is the main reason I ask. I'll maybe try and find some topics on it in ADD and see if I can make heads or tails of them - I love reading things in ADD but can rarely contribute as I'm not a genius like the people in there. Computers are my thing!

From the research I have done, GHB is active at the GHB receptor and GABA-b, but not GABA-a at normal physiological levels. It explains the somewhat different character of GHB from benzodiazepines, esp. the fact that more people find it reliably euphoric.
