Okay so Ive been using skag for a few months everyday Im also cross addicted to klonopin for many years but my question is how would I go about getting on a suboxone or methadone program in the states? I really dont have insurance or much money as of now any advice would be appreciated. By the way I really want to quit using both heroin first then klonopin after that so I can go back to living a semi normal sober life. Thanks BL your community has always been helpful sorry if this is not allowed mods.

You go about it the way any of us do.

Some methadone clinics don't allow people to be on benzodiazepines. Others do, as long as you sign a waiver typically speaking.

It would be easier to get on Suboxone, as some Suboxone doctors do not drug test you (whereas others would).

I would honestly prefer done as bupe brings out the worse in me where the done lets me forget the wd pain and get clean but there is no affordable source so im thinking doctor time. Thanks for the help I really want to get clean so I can find a nice sober girl to dedicate my life to making her happy and all the good stuff.

^ dont replace one addiction with another.......

keep in mind that going on done' is more of a commitment.....i would suggest looking over the sub and methadone mega threads (and the vs) to see what is better fitting....

imo, i would try bupe first....if failed try methadone....

also, time to realize that you might have to quit benzos before you go on MMT or BMT......

Ive been using benzos for about 7 years at least 3mgs klonopin daily. I wish it was as simple as "just quitting benzos" thats not an option yet but I do plan on getting off the benzos eventually but one thing at a time. Thank you everybody for your responses its given me a good direction to start toward.

well, tell the bupe doc about your issue....

im sure they would have to treat both issues, unless they have a firm policy...

but i mean man, you have been on benzos for 7 years.....your damn adjusted to them....

Hmmm "adjusted" I like that better than savagely addicted. Seriously though thank you all! It fucking sucks waking up everyday and needing to take a pill then another later on an another but I though the skag would make me be able to just wake up do a shot go a bit take a pill and kinda ween down down heroin. Long story short dont try to get off benzos with opiates especially heroin. Please be safe everyone this is a very helpful community everyone is usually very nice and has good advice.

If you've only been on H for a few months I dont really feel theres a need to go on methadone as your basically a slave too the drug and replacing one addiction with another. But up here in canada we dont have a 21 day maitenance, its a 2 year minimum commitment here. I'd just hate to see someone go on methadone with only a few months of use and make their addiction way worse than it is. Have you even tried to detox off the H or go into a treatment at least once?

If I was you I would try cold turkey espeically if you have benzo's with you because that will definately help with the w/d.

well around here all the methadone places that accept insurance have very long waiting lists like 6 months up to a year even but the cash only ones which are about 90 dollars a week you can get in within a week. But the problem with methadone is unless your klonopin is prescribed by a doctor than you wont be able to get on the program if you test positive for benzos and you have no legit script(Well it might be possible it depends on the clinic actually but at the one im at you cant test positive for benzos unless you get yours from a doctor). But if you are or you can quit the benzos than methadone is a good option, I mean 90 dollars a week is pretty affordable compared to a heroin/benzo habit. Otherwise you can get on suboxone which most doctors accept insurance so its cheaper and they dont care if you use benzos as much but depending on where you live there can be a waiting period for me I had to wait 2 or 3 weeks for an opening at my doctor but call all the doctors around you on suboxone.com and you might be able to find one without a wait.

Ive been using for a few months everyday on and off for years yes ive tried to quit and opiates arent nearly as bad as benzo wds. But that being said benzo wd is living hell and opiate hell is just very very very uncomfortable. I was thinking if I got on it and started tapering I could be done with it in a few months and hopefully reduce my klonopin intake as well.

Find a methadone clinic. They are much cheaper than having to go see a doctor to get suboxone, and even then, suboxone is a very expensive medication ($500+ for a month's supply). I also remember hearing that done clinics will also work with your financial situation, and people also report that done usually helps with the cravings better.
