Bupe Getting off sub with tramadol??

Ive been on suboxone for almost 2 years now and ive taken 2mgs a day for the past year and couldnt get off it if my life depended on it. The w/ds are just as bad as it was from oxy and dilaudid. My question is, my girlfriend got a script of 50mg tramadol and i was wondering if i took like 10 a day for a couple days, then went down 1 pill every 2 days or so, would i still have awful w/ds? or will tramadol even be sufficient to my receptors?
 
How much can you stand to cut down on the suboxone? Do you think you can make it, over a tapering schedule of course, from 2mg to <1mg? If so, then I'd suggest that, then starting to take the tramadol (but 400mg, as opposed to 500mg, unless you've used it at this dose before and that's what you're comfy with).
 
I would first taper down on the suboxone dude. you are taking way to much to be jumping off. you should get down to taking maybe .5mg of sub a day. taper down on the subs, and leave the tramadols alone. that's my opinion.
 
the thing is, the pharm company dosent tell patients about this but my doctor told me he asked about cutting the strips so patients can go down by less than 8mgs at a time and they replied "no one should be cutting the strips because the bupe isnt distributed evenly. cutting it ONCE lengthwise is the only accurate way to cut it." he said thats not fair to the patients because 4mg drops are pretty harsh and they said to prescribe the patients 4x's as many 2mg strips if they need that. now the problem is, those of us who have scripts know the shit is expensive as fuck (about $7-8 per strip) and the 2mg ones cost the same. so to accurately take 1mg a day i would have to pay quadruple price for my script which is definitely not possible for me. i started trying what i mentioned yesterday and 400mgs got me through the day with no w/d and ive taken 200mgs today but im getting hot flashes and im probably going to take more in the next few hours. i was wondering too, does sub AFTER tramadol cause precip w/ds? i need to know incase the tram fails me if i can take sub or if i should look for something. i can only find morphine right now, which does nothing for me without a needle and its 90 something degrees outside and track marks + short sleeves = no way.
 
Ok, can somebody PLEASE give me an answer about taking sub after tram. ive had 600mgs of tramadol today and im still in withdrawal. can i take a little suboxone or is that gonna give me precip w/ds? and dont say "try searching" because everyone says different answers and i just dont want to risk it. I have plenty of tram and i could take more, i just feel like it isnt filling my receptors enough. kinda odd how w/ds from a partial agonist cant be stopped by a full agonist...
 
Tramadol is a very weak agonist, so it's not that odd that it isn't stopping your WD. As stated, you need to taper down on the subs more. You're probably better off trying to quit suboxone with...more suboxone.

This is the best idea.

Since there are pre-existing threads for Suboxone discussion as well as I linked a thread to tramadol and Suboxone's interactions, I'm going to close this thread.
