I'm trying to get back on Suboxone, probably getting close to the 20ith time. No program, doing it alone leads back to taking oxy for a week or two usually just a week. I go back on subs because, I want to stop taking opiates, but also because I run out of opiates. I don't buy them, they are given to me. Thats another story in itself. Anyhow sometimes I can get back on within 6 hours or so, other times it's a rough day or two. I'm pretty sure I should be taking more sub to help with the cravings. I don't crave a nod, or high, just to feel normal, which sub doesn't make me feel unless I can stay on it for a month, I've noticed it takes a few weeks on sub, at least for me to return to normal. So I am wondering if I should just take extra sub for the first few days to build it up in my system, my Dr is not aware of the relapses and also not aware of how sub should be precribed. Although definitely a good/caring Dr. I am going to see if I can improve the energy level this go around the horrible lack of energy I get from sub is another reason going back to Oxy seems like a good idea. Basically sick of pills to be honest. I ahve both suboxone and tex, the subutex seems to allow me to get back on quicker than the oxone, maybe because of the naloxone? Anyhw, this go around I think I need to do something different, I am going to try and get to a group meeting. NA is not for me, I've tried it, it just made me want to try other drugs that people were talking about. Besides, I don't want to run into any sources at a meeting if you know what I am saying. Not everyone is there because they want to be.

Well, firstly, good work getting back on the sub. It takes a lot of people multiple attempts to quit opiates for good (or any drugs, really). So you've just got to keep trying man, and eventually you will make it.

I think group meetings are a great idea, if you've got some in your area that you can attend. Do it soon, don't put it off. You need as much support as you can get, to try and avoid another relapse.

Also, I know you've been seeing your GP, but like you said they aren't really aware of how sub should be prescribed, nor are they aware of your relapses. I think you would benefit from seeing a counsellor/therapist, to give you extra support and methods of dealing with cravings, thoughts etc.

Good luck, and keep us updated! <3
