Without pain life has no meaning. If you cant face the pain you dont want the tattoo enough.

a tattoo without the pain is not a tattoo
besides i wouldnt do any drugs when getting a tattoo.. if you cant hold still he will probably fuck up the drawing

Not only that, but taking anything that has even a remote chance of thinning your blood will probably fuck your tatoo up when the bleeding won't stop afterwards.

I have 2 friends who are tattoo artists. The only time they take anything for pain is when they are getting work done around their rib area (very painful!). Anyway, both of them just take vicodin and smoke some pot. What kind of tattoo are thinking of getting? Is it your first? BTW, it doesn't really hurt that bad.

well im not sure if this applies for tattoos or not but last night i was royaly trashed and decided to get my bridge pierced. The piercer said that with all the drugs i had been doing it probably thined out my blood. And did i bleed! I know nothing about tattoos but maybe this would also apply.

You wanna know a secret that the tattoo guy wont tell you.......the whole thing about booze/pain killers thinning your blood is bullshite (I am sure these drugs may do this, but not enough to blow the tat).If you are bleeding like a sieve after a tattoo, the artist was a wanker with a heavy hand. A tat should bleed a bit but not much. It is a great way for a bad artist to cover his ass when you walk out in bloody rags....it was the booze ....really.... I have seen artists tattooing other artists who are fucked up on whatever. The tats turned out great. They just get pissed at people making noise and telling them how to do their job. As long as you are cool and mellow and not obviously f$#%ed up. Imagine drawing on a canvas that moves. Now imagine drawing on a canvas that moves that is on drugs, and twitching/nodding off….spewing…etc. If you puked in a tattoo shop think of the revenue the guy looses.
You have chosen to get a tattoo in a place that is probably one of the most pain full and delicate. However, different people have different tolerances to pain. For me the little ratt a tatt is not really intolerable, but for some it is. There is no indignity in feeling pain more or less then someone else. TELL your artist that you are sensitive (if you are). Anti-anxiety drugs are often the best, as the pain is increased by fear. Barring these just about any pain killer will help…preferably an opiate. And don’t wiggle…….

Yeah , that alcohol myth is bullshit. 90% of people with tatts now were reasonibly intoxicated at the time. I just wouldn't take any uppers when you get it done. It doesn't even hurt much until they are going over certain parts

Well you asked a decent question, so here's a decent response. With all of the drugs I've taken (and that is NOT a-lot), the best one IN MY OPINION and from MY OWN EXPERIANCE would have to be vicodin. You will be very relaxed, so you wont be nervous or feel any anxiety, also, it will numb the pain.

yes like they said...vicodin. you wont feel a thing 'cept maybe a little scratching or tingling where yer gettin the tatt.

Have some hardcore anal sex the nightbefore, then the pain from the tatto won't be nothing compaired to that.

Like others have said... do it sober. It's not so bad (depending on where you get it).

Hey the tattoos i got felt good! i liked the sensation maybe im weird.....anyways wanna numb it up ? check out lidoderm patches applied 3-4 hrs before u go to get it done will work good

What they said. The pain really isn't that bad. I agree on the vicodin recommendation too, if you must. Also, I wonder if rubbing some emla cream over where you are going to have it done would work at all.
Hehe, maybe you should change your mind and have a vagina tattooed over your penis!

You don't need to take a drug, just get EMLA cream. You put it on your skin for a half hour, covered, then take it off and get the tattoo. You won't feel a thing.

ok ok, so im a pussy, sheesh... but you know, the thought of repetative sharp needle punctures on my arteries seems a littel scary and painful... pardon me for not wanting to wriath in agony. lol... i'll prolly do it sober anyway...

You should check out BME....tattos are nothing man.....The little bastard is gonna hurt on your wrist, a moment of pain for a life time of enjoyment. Just be warned, you will get hooked on them.

Yup, the "thin blood" thing is bullshit, well, not totally, but you couldn't drink enough for it to be a viable risk and still be consisious ..
What to take for pain? Whatever you can get! The stronger the better.. heroin, Vicodin, codeine, whatever..
