Hi.
Just wanted to inform you that the German health Office is planning to ban Kratom in Germany. You can Signthis Petition against it:

Its inevitable kratom gets banned , everywhere, it is an opioid, an a-typical opioid, and with the advent of the now widely available extracts, which are proving to be insanely potent, the writing is on the wall!

and it is difficult to turn into money for already wealthy entities in pharmaceutical department.

I dont know about that. The pro-kratom lobby in the USA seems to be quite influential and powerful. It remains fully legal in many states, and I beleieve the anti kratom lobby in New York state keep trying to get in banned, but the pro-kratom lobby keep getting the ban motion over turned.

The USA seems to be leading the way, at least when it comes to cannabis and kratom.

Not so much with other substances.

It's now a controlled substance/illegal in most of western europe. I hate it that many countries have just banned it out of nowhere, one day it's legal and the next they're like "well, we're banning it". Very frustrating

Who the fuck is making those decisions ?
Kratom powder doesn't pose significant harm and extracts are basically non-existing in europe. Users aren't dying or overdosing on kratom (with just a handful of ambigous exceptions). There are no kratom junkies in the streets or people beating their wives after taking it. It isn't even a new psychoactive substance, it has been available for decades.

Probably the most significant reason it will be banned. I'm not advocating one way or the other, I am merely shining light upon writing on wall, kratom is an opioid, and the so-called industry behind its prevalence is doing exactly what cannabis growers have done to reefer, which to my mind has been ruined, which is to say growing its potency to ridiculous levels.

The extracts now eliminate all of the other crap out of the alkaloid bomb that is kratom, and focus exclusively upon the two major alkaloid components responsible for the popularity of the substance! I can absolutely assure you its going to be banned and in the USA scheduled, they are tweaking it upward, as has always happened with every addictive substance.

Folks just do not understand, once upon a time you could just walk into a pharmacy and buy yourself some opium syrup called laudnum or whatever, coke actually contained cocaine, ect ect ect. The ruling authority will always catch up with the addicting substances which impart harm, and by harm I mean "addiction!" You should see these folks and these extracts, actually many of you do, they went from the powder to the extracts and they are now hooked to the gills on the shit, which is why the prices are going up for such... I am sorry, but these are just facts!

I was gonna say the same. Everything changed back in 2016 when the DEA backed off. I believe the guys name was Chuck Rosenberg, I see him on TV at times, he was the head of the DEA at the time I believe. When you look at the dude he looks like he could have compassion. But you’re right the momentum to keep it legal is way stronger. Actually in the states trying to make anything natural illegal is going to be tough. But what you will see is over 18 laws, and maybe pulling some of this crap out of every convenience store. But we won’t see a full ban.

I just hope everything is sustainable in the originating countries. We all know how greed can ruin things.

I was that guy in 2005 saying they’ll ban it any day now. After a few years, I started changing my mind. Glad to see Germany has a petition. People do matter.

Every substance has its drawbacks and issues to be aware of.

But when measuring the pros, cons, and dangers of using the substance, kratom is overwhelmingly mild compared to other opioids or drugs. Extract or not.

You my friend are preaching to the choir, I really have no skin in the game of kratom, personally I hate the crap, but it does not bother me one whit if you love it and must have at it! All I am conveying is the truth, USA history particularly, is dotted with emergent substances that seemingly become entrenched, only to become legally verboten! The measuring stick for such is said substances impact upon society by way of crime, health impacts, and potency/addiction parameters. Some of the extracts available at head shops, gas stations and convenience stores, are stupidly potent, and clearly as addictive as all other opioids.

Its just a matter of time, and events before the fed steps in and halts its availability!

Yea. When we think that most other drugs should be legalized too, it is, in addition to everything else, so short-sighted to reject the possibility of practice legalization when the possible issues have so low ceiling-As half-agonist, it can cause death as exclusive drug in system, only via consumption over years with material rich in heavy metals, or possibly via some very rare syndrome where daily high-dose consumption causes liver injury (snafu talked about this some time ago), but I am not sure if that is actually the same thing as the heavy metals toxicity. So when we are going to legalize things like amphetamine or heroine, people who are responsible for regulation, are in MUCH BETTER POSITION to make informed decisions.

LEgalization would also make it possible to monitor the heavy metal contents reliably, essentially eliminating one of the very few ways kratom can cause serious harm or danger to health or life.
