general survey for those of you that IV

1. how long did you use your IV DOC before deciding to inject it?

2. what drug(s) did/do you inject?

3. for those of you that are addicted or are at least having problems using drugs in moderation, do you think that IVing is what "sent you over the edge"?

(note to mods: i did some searching but couldn't find a thread that covered these things in one place)
 
1. my first time with heroin was injecting
2. heroin, ketamine, a few times cocaine, very occasionally various psychedelics
3. IV'ing didn't send me over the edge per se but it coincided with an upswing in my heroin use and my association with a lot of other IV'ers living a not-so-hot lifestyle, so, maybe
 
1. I smoked and snorted Methamphetamine
2. Methamphetamine, amphetamine sulfate, demerol, dilaudid, heroin.
3. Not nessesarily, I was already 'over that edge' by then, but it worsened it as I realized it produced the most desirable effects to me.

1 - I smoked heroin for a fortnight before switching to the needle. That was my first experience of IV use.

2 - Heroin, cocaine (mostly crack but occasionally powder), codeine (stupid and dangerous), morphine, diconol (when I could get it :\), ketamine, speed, MDMA, and recently 2C-D. Only the last four are relatively ongoing, although only sometimes now. Will be more added to the list at some point.

3 - Not really cos it was what I wanted and needed to do at the time. The main problem with IV use - for me at least - is getting caught up in the needle fetishism. Can be incredibly hard to go back to "lesser" methods once you've had the "best" :\
 
1. first time i did it i iv'ed ( and got hep yay)
2. mainly heroin/coke/speed but in my younger years i injected any powder i could find
3. iv is very expensive and made my tolerance rediculous early on, so in that respect, yes

1. I snorted and swallowed meth and amph sulphate for 5 years before i started slamming speed..

2. I inject street meth amd amph. sulphate regularly. I also have a nasty habbit of injecting my Ritalin pills (methylphenidate). I will occasionally inject heroin and buprenorphine (Subutex sublingual tablets). I've also IVed lots of drugs i've tried that are water soluble just for the hell of it¨(e.g. MDPV, 2CB, 2-c-t7, ketamine, midazolam/Dormicum, Oxycodone/Oxycontin, Buprenorphine/Subutex/Suboxone/Temgesic, Coke, Ambien/Stilnoct/Zolpidem, every (interesting) pharmaceutical i've ever come across in an ampoulle (containing a solution/emulsion meant to be IVed), well.. you get the idea. I'm buzzing a bit too much on speed to make an exact list of everything that's I've ever put in my arm...

3. I was alrready "over the edge" before I first time hitted the needle. I believe IVing drugs has made my (meth)amphetamine addiction a lot more deep than it used to be. It took my (psycho)stilunt addiction to a next level.. and way too far away from the point of return...

I sniffed heroin for roughly 2-4 months before IV'ing

I don't IV anymore. I would IV dilaudid, or any pharm ampules if I came across them. I used to IV heroin, OCs, cocaine, MDMA (crystals), and LSD.

IV use never sent me over the edge. I probably would have gone over the edge just as easily if i had kept sniffing. The only difference is switching from the sniffing ritual to the shooting ritual. BTW the shooting ritual is so much cooler, which slightly added to the addictiveness (similarly to how copping in the ghetto adds to the addictiveness IMO).

IMO the addictiveness (the over the edge factor) kind of develops from a combination of factors like:
1.) better connects/copping in the ghetto/ being able to score 24/7. Better connects usually develop after a longer period of use, so not only are you more physical addicted but mentally you know all you need is money and you'll have your fix.....I remember when I was using I had at least 6 spots within a 10 block radius that sold nearly all day and night.
2.) the more you use the more problems you have the more you use to forget the problems.
3.) Physical addiction and withdrawal
and the last and least influential is the ROA....Over a prolonged period of use sniffing or smoking dope isn't going to get you any less addicted than IV'ing on a physical level.
But after reading some other posts the needle fetish and rush could speed up the addiction process. But imo most people are pretty addicted or unstable when they decide to stick a needle in their arm for fun.

 5 maybe 6 months of snorting before going to the needle.

 Heroin mostly. Cocaine on occasions(speedballs).

No, it's what helped me use less of the drug while still achieving the same high. I was addicted long before switching to the needle.
 
1) I smoked heroin for about 3 years before I decided to inject it. although I crossed over into IV use when I came into Dilaudid. Which is just spandy when you put it in your arm.

2) Heroin, Coke, Dilaudid, Ketamine, Morphine, Oxymorphone

3) I'd like to say i was addicted, but i'm on maintenance and the reality is i think about slamming heroin or D's just about everyday. I was already over the edge before I started my IV use.

1. Heroin, I've never snorted it. I shot it the first time I got it. It was tar and I got it locally in the suburbs, which never happened again. Got it from the pothead crowd too. I loved it. I first burned a bit on some glass to make sure it was real; I read that heroin smells like vinegar and how tar heroin should look and burn like. It burned consistent with what I read, and so later that night I shot heroin for the first time. I used up that gram within the month, and 2 months later I went to the city to try to get dope and got it. I didn't meet anyone who did dope or knew anyone who did dope until years later. White suburbia...

I had experience shooting before this - in similar fashion, I bought coke and later that night, after a couple sniffs and parties before where I had tried it, I shot it. I could count on my hand how many times I've sniffed coke but I shot it every night, once a night, on and off, for a couple months until I just got bored of the stuff. I now hate coke and wouldn't try it even if it was offered free, which happens quite frequently, along with free crack. I had my fun with it and just don't like it anymore.

2. I've injected every drug you can, except PCP. I'm a needle fiend. I've taken ketamine and heroin IV only, and I've shot acid, ecstasy, coke [hydrochloride], alcohol, crack/cocaine acetate, oxycodone HCl, meth, dilaudid, percocet CWE...

3. No. What sent me over the edge with heroin was shooting up when I bought it in the city 2 hours away instead of waiting to go home to do it.

1: I've been using for about two years.
2: heroin
3: no, I only IV every so often. I simply don't like all the risk involved and rather just sniff a bit more smack to get high vs risking injecting god knows what that shit is cut with.
 
1. I used oxy about 20 times before I IV'd it, did meth for about 3-4 years before I shot it and heroin(I did heroin once before smoked but it didnt do anything) and morphine I IV'd my first time.

2.Right now I dont consider myself an addict to anything I IV, once apon a time I shot lots of OC but I snort now, id only really shoot heroin, coke or meth these days.

2. IV'ing did cause a shitload of problems for me, but it was mostly my own head causing the problems, I can shoot meth once every 2-3 months or even more and have no problems with addiction or habituation, though opiates are different and usually when I start using opiates I dont stop until im dependant and then I have to WD and the whole process just sucks. The biggest problems IV'ing would have caused me is all the pill fillers and binders I would have injected, and I can garauntee there would be alot and it wouldnt surprise me if someday I die due to complications involving pill injecting in the past. I dont think IV meth has really done anything negative for me though(lately), I love my speed and as long as the shit isnt brown(ox blood) then im happy, speed is "relatively" safe to shoot so I dont mind a shot every now and then but sometimes I do get worried about what it may be cut with, im responsible anyway.

My biggest problem due to IV use is that my cousin overdosed on heroin this Christmas eve and she died, so I dont think ill ever shoot heroin again, this event in my life has shaken me enough to make me pretty scared of needles.

1. i used every drug i ever IVed in other ways before trying IV

2. first drug i tried IVing was ketamine and damn i fell in love immediately, also tried IV liquid LSD, MDMA, than eventually heroin, cocaine, various pharms

3. the first time i IVed ketamine i wasnt even really addicted to anything just wanted to try it, by the time i IVed heroin and coke i was very far gone already

I was just fascinated by the method, so as soon as I realised that UK coke could be shot up (it's dirty as shit so I wasn't sure), I went for it.

2. what drug(s) did/do you inject?
I've shot up coke, speed, ketamine, morphine, oxycontin..and on the dumb side of things when I couldn't get anything else, Tramadol (pointless), pseudoephedrine (pointless) and phenylephrine (thought I was going to die - DO NOT DO THIS!)

It definately fucked me up when I could get very strong speed - IVing it took it from recreational to plain fucking stupid and I couldn't stop til the supply ran out, god knows what would've happened otherwise.
And yeah, it's taken coke to a whole new level, I can't take it in any other way than locking the door, pulling the curtains and shooting it until it's all gone, I'm mega paranoid and feel like shit. Which isn't great..
I've definately ended up with a huge needle fixation - I frequently do drugs just because I want to shoot something now 8)
 
Considering my DOC is grass, I'd say I dabbled in all the drugs I've IVed for more than 2 yrs.

Coke
Oxycodone
clonazepam
diazepam
alprazolam
zolipidem
morphine
amphetamine

Nope, just another facet of the diamond of drugs.
 
How I was introduced was.IV
On and off for 5yrs.
Meth only drug i inject.
I am seeking help with an issue Im recently coming across. I inject and not miss and i get a blister that appears where i do shot.whatis going on????
 
I never used needles until well into my 30’s when my BF introduced me. I’m a worse addict than before because it’s a progressive disease, now I go back and forth between IV and other ROA’s when im using anything but H - that one IV only
