Ok blue lighters, So tomorrow I will be going for the deep end, the start of my Withdrawal will begin. I have stocked piled some medications that should help they are:
Gapbapentin
Flexeril
Tramadol
Kratom
Xanax

This is not my first WD experience but I would like it to be my last (as well all do and say lol) Anyways I really want to stay away from the tramadol because last time I used them and just ended up trading tramadol for my other DOC. I know that tramadol does work on the opioid receptors in the brain and don't want to prolong the WD's. I have two weeks before I start my new job and want to be clean for a drug test as well as just clean in general, start fresh!
With that time frame in mind I don't want to take anything that is just going to prolong the inevitable, I would rather take nothing and just be in hell for 6 days rather then off set it and have to deal with it at a later date.
So I think this means that Tramadol, and Kratom are not what I want to take because they do work on the opioid receptors. What about Flexeril?

this brings me to my main question, Gapbapentin does not work on the opioid receptors and instead on the GABA, so I should be ok taking it right? I only have enough for four days and this is even taking it in a very low dose at 300mg three times a day, I know this is a low dose but it's just what I have, so will have to do. Any relief is still relief when going through WD's. Anyone know from personal experience if this stuff not only helps but does not prolong the WD process?
Also I have read that you should taper down with Gapbapentin, but at such a low dose and short time frame of taking it, do you guys think this will be an issue?

Thanks for any help you have, really appreciate it!!

I dont think you will have to taper the gabapentin as it is so short a time. It should not prolong wds and will help with the restlessness so many get. Good luck.

The gabapentin would definitely be my choice for W/D out of all the drugs you have listed. Since most opiate withdrawals last less than 2 weeks in total (probably significantly less), you're unlikely to see any sort of withdrawal from the gaba once your opiate withdrawal is done.

Obviously the xanax is quite a bit more powerful, but since its not long acting, I would only take that if you're having a really hard time falling asleep early in the withdrawal and need something to knock you out real quick.

Same goes for the tramadol. Use it if you need it, but try to avoid it, as the side effects are not so fun, and the withdrawal from those can be as bad as with stronger opiates and benzos.

I'd say start with 1200mg of the gabapentin in the morning and 1200mg in the evening. Taper up or down to fit your needs. It will help you sleep at night, but I've always found that it's pleasantly intoxicating, but not so much that it will disrupt you during the day. Definitely one of the most ideal drugs for withdrawal that's easily available.

Immodium ad actually helps me greatly. gabapentin helps a little. I've heard tramadol is pretty good for wds

The way I utilize Gapapentin in withdrawal is to maximize it's bioavailability. Do this by taking only 1-2 at a time, perhaps even less (measure out powder and make into small doses of ~150mg), about once an hour. Eat a small snack shortly afterwards. It makes them work much, much better.

If you only have enough for 4 days worth of doses I wouldn't worry about tapering. I've never found gabapentin to be of much use during withdrawal though. I'd rather have a benzos and clonidine to knock myself out.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Since I have such a small amount I went ahead and just took one this morning and will take another at lunch and another at dinner. So far its been 2 hours since I took 300mg and I feel great, almost no wd's. I did have shits so took imodium, which worked. Other then that I only have watery eyes and nose, but NO rls, goose skin, depression or general feeling of absolute shit. ...so thats good! Had no idea it would work so well!
