So I am starting my Suboxone treatment on Wednesday when I go in to meet the Doc for my Induction appointment. I have a game plan to taper off Subs and than take some other medications that I already have available to me to help me kick the suboxone W/D if I have any. As of right now im not sure how long the doc is going to make my taper last, I told the Doc I am going to play by her game plan and not venture off it.

Lil history of myself- 30-90mg Roxi habit daily for the past year or 30-80mg Opana (whatever i could get)

Here are the medications i have available to me already and I would like someone who has used any of these meds for coming off Opiates or Suboxone. Please include doses you used and if it worked or not. Thank you very much.

1. Gabapentin- (DO NOT MIX WITH BENZOS)
2. Clonidine
3. Tramadol
4. DXM
5. Imodium
6. Ketamine
7. Klonopin- DON’T MIX WITH BENZOS

for one clonazepam is a benzodiazepine, and mixing gabapentin and benzos is perfectly safe as long as you remember that gabapentin potentiates benzos to a good degree.

^+1, that's correct

did u take opana orally? or is it that new formulation bullshit? cause oxycodone certain'y isnt equipotent with opana when oxymorphone is administered nasally or by IV.

yeah that's a good combo of meds to help you; you have pretty much everything covered for acute withdrawals, what's your plan after that though?

Never mix tramadol with DXM though, you can take a tiny dose of dxm like 15-30mg while on tramadol without serious issues but if you plan to use DXM to help, do not mix it with tramadol and look up the half life of DXM and it's metabolites before attempting to take tramadol; there's a serious risk of serotonin syndrome.

you probably don't need the ketamine and i'd be hesitant about switching an opiate addiction for a ketamine addiction, as an opiate addiction won't fuck up your kidneys/bladder while ketamine addiction will.

no i railed opana.. the generic 15s and the orange 40mg generics... and yeah i just dropped the ketamine off my list. again my max doses are listed.. i never got to 200+ mg a day of anyone of those or combined. and probably for the past 2-3 weekds ive only been doing 30-45mg of oxy or 15-30mg opana... again never combined, it was one or the other... so tomorrow i go to my induction appointment. i might just at this point stick to the following meds, cause even tho i know i have a problem it doesnt seem anywhere near as far or as higherdoses as other people here.
1.Gabapentin
2. Clonodine
3. immodium
4. Tramadol

I'd be careful about taking the immodium or tramadol, if you're going to start sub induction. You really, really don't want to find out what precipitated withdrawal is all about.

Clonidine is by far the most important. Deals with nearly everything. I had a much bigger habit than you and I generally took 200mcg at a time, 2-4 times a day. Towards the end I only needed a single 100mcg at night. You can judge if you need more if your skin still feels electrified/amped up. 1000mcg is considered the maximum recommended daily dose for opioid detox.

Gabapentin is great for taking the rest of the edge off. 1600mg at night was usually sufficient.

Immodium to take care of the shits. 3 X twice a day helped me enough... this one's easy to determine.

And clonazepam to help you sleep. The more, the better, IMO, but 2mg would be a minimum for me.

With those 4 drugs, the only thing you'll feel is exhaustion during the day.

Basing my response off the the title of your thread.

You seem to have a plan to get over the acute withdrawal phase of detox. When truly "kicking it for good" you learn that you would probably prefer 20 cold turkey detoxes to unsupported/unplanned post acute withdrawal.

Have you told your family and close friends about your addiction? Do you have a plan to change your daily habits and environment? Do you know what you might enjoy to stay busy? Have you decided if counseling would help you? ( no one is addicted to opiates without a reason).

These are all serious no bullshit questions to ask yourself and plan for. I wish you all the luck in the world, blue light sure as hell held my hand and helped.

We're you in an accident? 30 pills of 90 mg roxi's! The only people I know who get that much have lost limbs due to diseases. I hope your ok and you have a good resolve so you can do it!!! Good luck!

In previous suboxone tapers I have used clonidine 25mg (it helps with the heebie jeebies) also loperamide (immodium) helps in high doses (20-40mgs) also if you have access to seroquel or trazodone they will help you sleep

Diedras post^^ just to correct a serious typo, DO NOT eat 25mg of clonidine. I am sure the poster meant .25mg, as that is a safe dose.

I wouldn't rely on lope to solve anything but GI issues. I've read posts from a vast minority of people claiming it works (and it might, I've never met anyone who its worked for). Basing my next comment on nothing but conjecture, taking 20x-40x the reccomended dose of anything isn't smart.

Clonidine has always been my go to. I don't like the feeling I get with Tramadol so I stay away from it. PAWS is a bitch. Clonazepam is helpful too. Insomnia is always a problem for me for awhile when I quit so anything to help with sleeping. Best of luck to you!

For loperamide, even going cold turkey off a much bigger habit, I only took 3 pills twice daily. It stops you from having to go to the bathroom every half hour. So it's great for that. But using it for other withdrawal symptoms in megadoses is pretty stupid IMO.
