High doses of gabapentin have caused pancreatic acinar cell carcinoma in laboratory rats; however, in humans, pancreatic carcinoma is usually ductal in origin.4 Increased rates of pancreatic tumor occurrence have not been reported in patients using gabapentin, although data to date are limited for humans.
