Misc Gabapentin for social anxiety?

My friends GF gets me my oxy and norco but she gave me gabapentin because its all she had this week. i have 18 300mg caps i'm curious if there's really any rec value here? i paid nothing so i'm not losing out. Also i read online (while researching the drug) that its used for social anxiety and i'm a daily xanax user for social anxiety but i don't like it because i'm way too tempted to pop 2 bars with a shot of jack. If it would work for that what would be a good dose?

Like most compound for some it works and others it doesn't. I knew someone who used 600 mg a dose and used it because they liked it. I ended up suicidal with extreme emotional instability with it.... It did relieve some joint pains and stuff. I'll also mention that person is off all of their scripted meds that cloud the mind.

It does have a little recreational value. I used to abuse it in rehab. 1500mg gave me a nice buzz. It works well for social anxiety but it probably won't do much for u since u use xanax daily.

Yes it works well for social anxiety, have been using it as a cocktail to get fucked up while on suboxone...subs+gaba+benzo+weed=nod and just on it's on for the anxiety part, about 1500mg...but on the subject yes, to me it does..its different for different people I guese, it makes me SUPER social, I will talk your ears off, it's almost like I'm on a stimulant without all the side effects and it helps the anxiety and makes me sleepy by night time, also makes everything look kinda brighter. The buzz last all day. I would take 1500mg-1800mg your first time, and they say if you stagger your doses(take 600mg every 45mins or so) it increases the bioavalability, though you will feel it anyway if you take 1500-1800mg. Also a warning in synergies with benzo's so maybe take a lower dose if you have taken xanax. Definatley avoid alcohol, it will make you a sloppy mess on it.

Edit: Oh it takes a second to kick in, like two hours, so give it time.

well i don't think i'll try to use it for recreation considering i have a bad addiction to hydrocodone and i use oxy occasionally i don't think its effects will be worth it for me. I'm hoping it will be ok for social anxiety. i use xanax before work and before going on outings with friends but i refuse to abuse it, i don't want any benzo problems. opiates are bad enough. thanks for the dosage tips guys!

Oh, just a tip...keep them around for opiate w/d. Apparently they work WONDERS for both benzo and opiate W/D.

I like them but they are no benzo which can be a good thing at times. I usually dose 900-1200mg throughout a day and it makes me social and carefree but in a subtle way. If I take anymore than that and smoke weed, things get weird. I've had weird eye twitches and other vision issues while smoking on mid level doses of it. But it's a very cool drug IMO. I only take it once a week because like most useful drugs, there is a WD that people report.

Hahah i was going to ask about smoking on gabapentin. So you don't think its a good idea? i don't smoke too much anymore but i'm always nervous about mixing weed and pills (unless its hydro)
