I am on 12 mg's bupe per day, and i still have these mad cravings, sometimes i go through wigh it, otherwise i'll get some morphine to IV (don't worry i know about precipiteted W/D) so i'm carefull.

but i don't remember having such bad cravings on methadone, i know the doc will probably sart me low, but in yhour experience how much would 1zmg bupe be in methadone? around 100lg's? less? more?

thanks

you can use an opiate after you have taken a suboxone. you just can't do it opposite. you don't way say, methadone chillin up in your receptors and then take bupe and have the bupe knock them off that will cause withdrawal.. i kno you probably know but yesterday i took a subutex and then 2 oxys still felt em just not as strong...

good luck though and remember to try to keep the methadone dose low because i've seen it first hand that shit is difficult to get off of. try taking less suboxone like around 4mg's you will find that it actually works a lot better. it will take your mind off of it too as the opoiod receptors are happy..

in my experience i found with an oxy habit of up to of not more 160mg's a day, a 1 10mg methadone tab would hold me over. 2 would definitely do the trick though. **to get me out of withdrawal** yes, i was prescribed suboxone and took it for a year or so... methadone is a lot different (obviously) and some people are just better off on it compared to subs. suboxone some times left me with cravings as yes they suck but they were not bad. if you just started treatment that is going to happen for a little while though in probably any case...

If it's really hard keep things under control, then why dont you just take morphine before you switch? I mean might as well have some fun before doing somthing so major. I never got cravings on suboxone until I quit.

You could always switch back and fourth between full agonist opiods and suboxone.

30mg of methadone is equal to 8mg of suboxone. no way in hell do you need 100mg.

yeah, i agree that methadone is better for cravings than suboxone. however, if you weigh all the pros and cons i would take suboxone any day. going to a clinic every fucking morning at the ass crack of dawn? being treated like FUCKING SHIT by the people that dispense it? gaining weight? paying 250 a month at least? fuck that.

id rather have an entire months worth of meds i can take whenever i want, i can travel somewhere if i want to, im not eating ice cream like its going out of style, and i only pay 100 bucks a month. still, a large part of me would looooooove love love to feel a little warmth and calm that methadone brings. its true that suboxone gets you well but it doesnt do shit for cravings.

if youre sincerely trying to get well, it's best to START on methadone. then GET to your comfort dose and level out. stay on that dose for awhile then ween off. i was on 120mg of methadone and was able to drop 30mgs in 30 days on 3 seperate occasions, with no ill effects. once i got down to 30, i switched to suboxone. i had to detox for 7 days but my doc gave me 300mgs of morphine a day until i sweated out the methadone. ive been on suboxone now for 5 months. it was rough at first, but after the first 60 days, you'll thank yourself for sticking with it. if you keep juggling dope like that, you'll NEVER get well and will constantly have to adjust your meds to suit your need.
