French weed= Shit?

Recently a friend of mine returned from studying abroad in France for a year, and of course my first question was how was the weed? She said it was really crappy, to the point that all the Frenchies used "shit" as the slang term for weed. I don't remember where exactly she was staying in france but is 'shit' typical slang throughout france? is the weed really that bad? She said she barely got a head change from what she was smoking...
 
it'd be pretty crazy if the whole country got crappy weed. someone would do something about that; all those people wouldn't just be content smoking "shit." though, i have no idea. i don't really have much to contribute here.
 
in France they call the hashish so, "shit"

Quality of ganjah is very different from a region to another.

I can buy weed in my town anytime but the quality is poor, but if I move 15km I can find weed & hashish at least as good as the one you pay €11/g in the Netherlands

btw I live in Belgium, it's not very different in France I think, but I think good stuff is harder to find in France
 
My understanding is that France has the strictest cannabis laws in Europe. This combined with the fact that France is full of assholes (Belgium is cool, though :D) might make it difficult to find good weed there for a tourist. I don't think I saw any weed at all while I was there. The only French people I have met who are willing to share weren't in France.
 
how can you generalise all the weed in france is shit? do you know how dumb that comment is? hate to break it to you but theres shit green in your neibourhood too!
 
I feel prejudiced some times, but then I remember French people yelling at me just for being an American, and I feel good a justified for hating their shit country.
 
haha, my french textbook in college actually mentioned that "shit" was the slang for pot.

have no idea about the actual quality of bud over there.

So because some assholes insulted you, you've decided to act as stupidly as them and do the very thing you despise?

Anyway, this isn't the subject. I think shit is a slang for weed or hash, and have heard some French use this word, not the translation: the actual word «shit».
 
if theres shit pot in france, any french man can just go take the train to holland...so problem solved

But I wonder whats the drug that flows the most there..since cannabis laws are rediculous from what i read above

No, I don't yell at French people in the public for being French. If there's something to hate on France for, though, I'll jump in. I've been there. It smells like piss.

Anyhow, I'm sure that there is plenty of good pot in France. I tend to think that the French are more inclined to keep it to themselves, though. I couldn't find good wine while I was there, either. The brandy was half decent, but I think I kind of lucked out on that one.

Germany is just a trainride away from France and they have great beer, great pot, and great people. I suggest Munich. Other people have already mentioned Holland, which is another country that is way cooler than France and just a few hours away. Rotterdam is probably one of the chillest cities in Europe.

For the record, I've met plenty of cool French people, just none of them in France. My brother smoked a joint with a Frenchman while we were in Ireland, but I don't recall if he said the pot was any good or where it came from.

The Moroccan connection is deep there. Former colony and all (130 yrs, if you can believe that.) Anyway, the thing to cop in France is the amazing Moroccan hash. Readily available, excellent quality and easy to get. And for the record, the last time I was in Paris, almost everyone I met everybody was nice, including the dealers.

But you do go as low as them by hating a whole country over some bad experiences. I've been to France too. Many times, in many cities. The smell was not particularly worse than anywhere else on earth. Of course, that's relative to the places you put your nose into...

Chill the fuck out! Did you even read my op? I was asking if it was as shitty as she made it sound out to be, and if 'shit' was really the popular slang term for pot, not saying that it IS shit. god damn...

way back when in high school a friend had a French exchange student.

One time I was talking to her in French and asked her about the weed over there. One of the first things she said was "C'est brun"....or "It's brown."
