This may be the dumbest thread on this site. But I just found literally like a whole script of of lorazepam in the trash. It wasn't in a bottle they were just resting on a paper bag. They say m on one side and 321 on the back, which I looked up and determined to be lorazepam. Now I want to take them, but idk I'm just hesitant. What could be the reason someone would throw them out? Are they dangerous to take when expired?

I would hazard a guess that the person who tossed them in the trash can would have proberly sampled them an found out just how crap they are! I have taken them in the past an was disapointed with the results

Why question good luck. Have they been tampered with? Are they wet or damaged?

Just take them.

You're right to be wary of drugs found literally in the trash. The person who placed them in the trash did obviously have a reason for doing so but its probably as someone mentioned they didnt work as the person thought so they decided to get rid of them. It is unlikely that they got contaminated or ruined somehow and that was the reason they were discarded. Expired benzos, like most "nonliving" compounds should be fine for years after their expiration dates. A lot of times those dates are more for precaution in that you dont want people taking 10 year old things it just isnt wise.

I am going to go with you should be fine provided they are what you claim and they were placed in the trash by a sane person. There are a lot of variables here and you really need to ask yourself if what you are doing is something the normal you would do with something other then drugs. I only say this because you are about to eat out of the trash...

Probably threw them out because they aren't very impressive. I get them prescribed, they're honestly a let down.

I would consider dousing / dissolving them in with isopropyl alcohol to sterilize them before taking any. The previous owner could have left any kind of germ on those pills.

Lol yeah I found them in the trash can in my college dorm bathroom. And wouldn't dissolving them in alcohol make them unusable?

Ha...reminds me of a couple years ago I was cleaning out my mother in laws room and found a bunch of old meds mostly antidepressants......but also not one, not two, but three bottles of lorazepam not totally full but 200 1 mg lorazies(wat I called them at the time...I'm an idiot lol). Some peeps don't like em, but it's probably my fav benzo. Glad I dont have access..I tend to overuse them. I actually flushed the last 50 of those because I couldnt stop takin them too many days in a row, but I digress. I highly doubt theyve lost much potency, meds tend to last waaayy longer than their exp. date. Wait they were in the garbage not in a bottle?? That sounds weird..but as long as theres no gunk on em I would still pop em..but im a degenerate druggie so ymmv
