Omg I haven't posted here in so long! I literally just started writing again so any feedback appreciated, I think it might be a bit too hallmarkish if that's a thing.


I don't recall a time someone
so quickly changed my life,
At least not in a bad way,
as in meeting my ex-wife,
It's like being in the dark too long,
then finally shown a light,
Or being lost for years then being found in just a night,
I think sometimes in life some souls are meant to come together,
And when they do they just can't help but make each other better,
Perhaps I'm being selfish,
as that really can't be fair,
Since perfect can't get better,
and that girl's already there.
A perfect sense of optimism,
plus a perfect smile,
A perfect personality,
a perfect sense of style,
That perfect kind of beauty where it's hard just not to stare,
A perfect sense of humor which is almost just as rare,
I never even knew there was
a perfect kind of smart,
On top of that she also has
a perfect kind of heart.
So beauty fades and life may change, but perfect stays the same,
She couldn't be more perfect, unless Perfect was her name,
If I don't see that girl again,
I'll find her in my dreams,
And hope she finally sees that she's as perfect as she seems.
