Hi everyone.

I am a nervous flyer and for years my mom has given me some xanax to take with me when I fly. Obviously I carry this with my in my hand luggage and I have never had any problems at all. My mom has a prescription for xanax and obviously I don't.

But now that I'm experiencing with other prescription medication (like Ritalin) I've gotten paranoid about taking it with me when I fly. I guess it felt okay when my mom gave me some prescription meds, but it feels different when I'm carrying something given to me by someone else!

Overall though, I don't see what the difference is. Nobody has ever stopped me and pulled out my xanax and asked me to show a prescription.

Is this something I should be worried about?

If you have few pills with you no problem. I had even etizolam in original blister pack without problem, within EU several times.
edit: I took several with me in hand luggage and put the other 100 in original blisters in other luggage. Never had a problem since they were branded pills. Nobody asked anything

I've never had problems with it... Although if you are worried you could just take the xanax right before you go through security!

Every time I fly inside the EU they are more concerned with the size/weight of your luggage (so they can charge you more) than some random pills you may or may not have. If you're really worried mail them to your destination.
