First time Tramadol user

Ok I'm getting my hands on 180 Trams. I have never had them before, but am a seasoned opiate pain reliever user. I have about 3 years of consistent, yet not quite abusive, use of oxycodone 30mgs, percs, and vics. I am wondering what a good starting dosage for Tramadols would be. Enough to give me a real good well-being feeling that opiates can give you. I was thinking somewhere from 100-200mg

Alot of people hardly ever feel anything below 200mg and some do . It varys from person to person .

But My first time was 150mg and I definitley had a somewhat nice time .

I don't really classify tramadol as a recreational drug compared to opiates , but it's still a cool drug.

But yeah take 150mg at first and go from there

i hardly get any euphoria from tramadol, i largely prrefer codeine as a "weak opiate", but if you take 30mg oxy you might be a bit dissapointed by tramadol.. anyway, try 200mg... you can allways redose, but don't go over 400mg there is a risk of seizures above that amount...

I know, I was scanning through a couple of pages in the front and back of that thread. Just asking more directly helps out a bit.

But yeah, I won't be surprised if I am disappointed. I'll be trying 150 or 200mg at first, then redosing from there.

Tramadol works for some and not for others, hardly any middle ground. When it does work though, the high is different from a typical opiate high. Tramadol has SSRI and SNRI actions that give you an immediate mood lift, along with a mildly speedy energy. It takes time, usually an hour or two for the onset of the effects to occur.


I found that I would rather have tramadol instead of hydro or oxy due to the effects and the ease of procurring it.

tramadol works best if there is some already in your system. For some reason its better to take it in many doses as opposed to 1 large dose. Take 50mg then wait an hour and take 100mg and redose. Redose by 50 or 100mg increments, not any larger. There will be more euphoria with doses spaced out.

High doses of tramadol can cause seizures even in non epileptic individuals, trust me on that cuz I felt it on my skin.
It would be better if you take a gabaergic substanze with it like clonazepam, valproate, gabapentin or oxcarbazepine.

Definitely this. I have taken Tramadol + Gabapentin. I would usually take one gabapentin capsule before taking the tramadol. I would notice far more euphoria from it and it would just feel better in general. Plus, there is less risk of a seizure. Gabapentin on it's own can be quite nice too (in the 2400mg+ range).

Please wait a couple hours before taking more too, the full effects are felt about an hour to two hours after ingestion. Also take into consideration that Tramadol can last for 8+ hours and can give you some crazy nods (usually later on in the experience), so prepare accordingly.

Take it easy with Tramadol. I personally try not to take a recreational dose more than once per week.
