Hi guys,

Just tested a pill for the first time using EZ test kit and just after some help interpreting the results.

Marquis - brown to dark purple
Mecke - green to dark blue/black
Mandelin - dark purple

I have pic too that I will try to upload.

Left to right, Marquis, Mecke, Mandelin.

I would try spread out your sample a bit more around the ampule next time by very very gently swirling it around a bit, closely monitoring color changes as you swirl. It indeed seems like a valid result, especially since you tested with 3 different reagents, but I think you should try to let more of your sample react with more of the reagent as I can see about 75% of the reagent hasn't reacted. This will give you a better indication, though again I think this result is OK

Good job on testing, keep on doing that every time

Thanks for the advice BlueBull. Was a bit hard to do that as there was only a really small amount off reagent in the ampules and it didn't really pool up in the bottom. I only took a really small scraping/sample from the pill and as soon as I added it it just stuck to the sides ::(

What I always do is use the plastic cap that's on top of the ampule. There's a kind of "bowl" on top where you can put your sample. I use this to carefully drop the sample in the middle of the ampule, which makes it hit the sides on the way down but also the bottom, spreading the sample out over a greater area. After that I slowly swirl it lightly which spreads it around even more, all the while carefully observing the liquid. With the mandelin test, the liquid should pool if you shake the ampule by the way, there's a bit more liquid in there than in the other ones.
