Opioids First time pharma morphine injection

Hellos,
me amd a mate of mine could hget our hands on some pharma grade injectable morphine; As you know I vbe a lonhg on off story with opis 9 mostly oxys) but almost always insufflated or parachuted, my mate is pretty opioid naive. How much should we shoot in order to have fun and not die in the process? I usually take orally 80-100 oxys per day, the guy tried the thing once or twice with me, 20 mgs max.

Morphine Sulphate IV injection for first time 20mg to be safe..... but push plunger slowly and only half first....then wait a min or so.....gauge reaction. Pull out if sufficient or press in remaining volume if needed.

Too bad it wasn't Diamorphine lol, or Hydromorphone

I believe it's even worse than that.

Absolute bioavailability for morphine was estimated to be 23.9% after oral solution, 22.4% after MST-Continus and 18.7% after the buccal tablet.

One of the main reasons oxycodone is used is it's higher oral bioavailability. Around the 60-70% range.

But another thing about oral oxycodone is that around 10% of it undergoes first-pass metabolism by the liver which O-demethylates circa 10% of the dose into the much more potent oxymorphone.


So in theory at least, oxycodone is more potent orally than via a parenteral route. But too many people aren't prepared to wait the 30 minutes IR formulations take or work, the 2 hour wait for SR formulations. I suppose that time would feel like forever if someone is ill.

I would not recommend injecting half a syringe worth and keeping it in the arm for a minute before injecting the rest.

I'd start at 10-20mg, in one single shot.

Yes, well said oral Oxycodone has amazing oral bioavailability and is rapid acting, and yes Oxymorphone too, I never felt the need to inject Oxy….only Dilaudid (Hydromorphone)

I've always considered Opana to be a 'me too' drug. The huge success of Oxycontin made other manufacturers look around for other off-patent opioids that were still susceptible to the FORMULATION being patented and settled on oxymorphone.

But it's oral bioavailability is much lower thus parenteral administration WAS a logical choice.

In fact, I believe it was Opana that first turned to 'abuse resistant' formulations. Long ago I know people who had figured out that the abuse resistant formulation of Opana would readily dissolve in alcohol in the form of Everclear. Now I would NOT recommend anyone inject a pill, but apparently there was a window within which the 'new' Opana was much, much cheaper than the old version and those who had it figured out developed massive habits.
