Filter in my bong

Hey, I just bought a new bong yesterday, I will get up a pic soon, but now I have a question.

It is my first bong with "removing" bowl to get the "choke". Do you put a filter in this bowl? Because I tried to put one and it didn't fit it was always moving... If I don't put a filter, the weed falls in the water when it's all burnt.

I'm pretty sure it may sound stupid but idc. Maybe I should buy smaller filters..? Or any ideas from your own experiences?
 
Go to your local shop and ask for some glass screens, they come in a few different shapes and sizes.

If you can't find those, hit up your local shady convenience / liquor store and get some brass screens.
 
The weed is supposed to fall into the water, that is after its been smoked and has turned into ash.

Maybe your bowl just has a big hole? Can you see green on the weed that falls into the water?
 
Depends on the size of the hole. If its regular, smoke it until it resins up. Then you'll have a natural screen.
 
Put a decent sized nug or a piece of a nug in the bowl and then the rest of the cut up nug on top of it.

If it's one of those acrylic plastic bongs that has the metal bowl just use a brass screen in it.
 
regardless,it sounds like new/clean bong syndrome to me. doesnt matter if its glass or acrylic plastic, if there is no resin, and the hole is too small then bud will get pulled through(prematurely while still burning or green). and the screen stops slipping when you get resin in the bowl. But if it's glass, I recommend that when breaking up your nuggs, put some of the fan leaves that were left on after the trim at the bottom of the bowl and make a natural "green" screen.They ruin the taste anyways so let them be the bottom. if plastic, then the male (Bowl piece where u put the bud) is made of metal. so yeah you could use a screen in the metal until the resin builds. but if u leave it in then you'll never be able to "Pull"a hit though(as ur supposed to) when its done.

Now the weed fits in it correctly, but it falls in the water when it is turning into ashes. I have tried putting one of my metal screen like you showed sega but it is too big it doesn't fit and keep moving.

Now I insterted http://img156.imageshack.us/i/dscn2213.jpg/ this piece into the bowl which is the bowl of another bong... It works allright but is not very esthetic I was just wondering what I should get...

The screens I tried to put in the bowl are the same as the one in the blue bowl... Maybe I should buy smaller screens? the bowl is in a cone form so it doesn't fit really well :(
 
eew..grommet. Just smoke it a bit, stems and whatnot at the bottom, put some resin on it son.
 
hehe, it doesnt stay put because its not been "resinated" into place.
with glass bowls i just cut the screen to size if too big, or shape it to fit and then smoke a few
fat bowlfuls and the resin builds up
and keeps it in place.

if all else fails, glass screens (jax) work ;)

Just keep toking till you get that resiny base in your bowl, then you can use petty much whatever the hell you want as a scrreen.
 
I'll try cutting my screen and building up resin to keep it in place... I'll give you guys feedback when it has resined.

How many times do you think it would need to resin up?
 
also, slow pulls (milking) will build resin faster as the smoke has more time to hang around the bowl area.
 
Id have to see your bowls design, but it sounds like what you may want is a glass screen. Let me see if I can find a pic of mine. Baiscally it can be used in most glass pieces with a decent sized bowl. Theyre all unique so you just find the one that fits your bowl best. I love it and it works very well. After a few bowls it will secure itself at the hole with resin. Just make sure you dont throw it away when you dump the ashes from your bowl. As long as you dont throw it away it will last you forever. I do a lot of smoking and mine doesnt have to be cleaned that often, about the same time as when the bowl gets too dirty to smoke from, then just clean it off. Never buy screens again.=D

Heres one of mine on my iPod when it was new. Now its covered in resin and isnt much to look it.
