4/5...maybe even 4.5...i'd give it a 5, but its not a true great movie...i'm pretty comfortable with saying its the best of its kind (CGI, special fx, etc), though

wow.this movie is the kind of movie i wanted especially when i was younger.there is soooo much action its like action action 5min break action action 5min break so much chaos everywhere and the camera dosent seem to stop circling every scene lol so dizzy

I love 'splosions in movies. They make my brain happy. It goes to sleep, and my eyes watch pretty things 'splode on screen.
Then the 'splosions stop, my brain wakes up and tries to make sense of what is going on post-'splosion. Usually this is a non-taxing process in 'splosion movies. Usually. Transformers 2 just wasn't all that good. Too much shit, I was going to say not enough 'splosions, but there definitely were enough
It went for about 40minutes too long. What plot there was, we could probably have done without. If it was just a 90minute long 'splosion fest, then that'd be fine. But no... they had to try and fit some "plot" in there.
Many of the 'splosion scenes were difficult to watch because of the ridiculous amount of camera movement. Seriously, you put in HOW much money into making these fantastic visual effects, and then you shake the camera all around it to obfuscate the view? C'mon...
I did enjoy it, but I left the theatre feeling quite meh.
Needs infinitely less ebonic jive talking robot fuckwads. srsly.

Part 1 was better as it had a better story line. Part 2 was just like Part 1 with a lame story and a few more cool looking robots.
I wonder how much work did Steven Spielberg actually do on this movie. Maybe he's just getting old and they just used his name to make the movie seem better.
Too damn long. 2&1/2 hours. My ass was hurting just from sitting that long. There were times I just couldn't take it anymore and couldn't wait for it to end.
Good:
- Cool looking robots doing cool things
- Good actors
Bad:
- 2&1/2 hours long. It could have been way shorter.
- Story was on the lame side.
- Movie seemed overall forced as is the case with most sequels.
- A lot of the scenes dragged on.
I would say this movie is mostly for kids and teenagers and for guys above their teenage years who want to satisfy the little boy inside (like my husband, he had been wanting to go see it for weeks).
Obviously I'm not a professional critic. I've seen a lot of movies but that doesn't give me enough knowledge to give a good review. This movie was made by a ton of people with the use of a huge amount of money so my review might not be giving it the fairness that it deserves.
What I wrote is just the gut feeling I got after watching the movie. I'd personally never see it again as i was already bored as hell the first time.

Some of the action scenes and transformations left me with my mouth gaping open. The CGI is amazing. The story is beyond terrible. The acting is cheesy, overly dramatic. Not to mention there are overtones of pro-religious, pro-war, right wing American ideals throughout ("destiny this, destiny that" give me a fucking break). And the movie went for somewhere over 2.5 hours. Far too long.
I think the fact that I saw this movie baked emphasised aspects of the movie. For example, how awesome the special effects looked, yet at the same time, how cheesy the story / acting was.
As a movie it's terrible. If someone could edit all of the action scenes together and then intersperse them with scenes from some random soft porno film, I would be much obliged.
