Synopsis:
15-year-old Tracey Berkowitz is naked under a tattered shower curtain at the back of a bus, looking for her little brother Sonny, who thinks he's a dog.
Tracey's journey leads us into the dark underbelly of the city, into the emotional cesspool of her home, through the brutality of her high school, the clinical cat and mouse games with her shrink and her soaring fantasies of Billy Zero - her boyfriend and Rock 'n' Roll saviour. Her travels also put her in contact with the seedier inhabitants of the city. Like Lance, her would-be saviour who ultimately puts her life in jeopardy.
Tracey's stories begin to intertwine truth with lies, and hope with despair as we move closer to the truth of Sonny's disappearance.
Ok, so whilst I was doing a little background check on this Ellen Page I skimmed through her various movies on imdb and stumbled upon this. I thought it looked kinda interesting, so I thought "hey!, lets make a thread". Anyway, certain elements lead me to believe that it could be a load of annoying twaddle. Such as this idea of fragmented scenes. Like how much of it is cut this way?. I'm guessing a fair bit as most of the time spent on this movie went into editing. But on the other hand it could keep the story moving along.
Another factor could be that the rest of the cast is pretty much unheard of (at least by me). Also, it's a Canadian movie. I hate to sound like a dick but to my mind there hasn't been a great deal of decent Canadian movies over the years (I double checked). The only ones I'm fond of are Black Christmas (1974), The Hanging Garden, Ginger Snaps, Videodrome, and Juno. And all were fairly quirky to say the least.
So anyway, enough jibba jabba. What say ye?
