film: the notorious bettie page

seeing big love and american psycho on the front page reminded me that this little movie is coming out now. it is directed by mary harron (of big love, american psycho, homicide: life on the streets, i shot andy warhol and various episodes of oz, six feet under, the l word and more) so it seems it should have some potential yet may be as muddled as i shot andy warhol and american psycho- while both movies i did enjoy they both were open and unconnected.

so anyway... on to the movie. i mean come on, who doesnt want to see a movie about bettie page staring a girl that gets all nekkid like?

it is the story of bettie page's life how the innocent churchy girl was discovered while trying to make something of herself. posed for s&m photos and how it all made her life go...
i dont think there is much more to say about the movie until i have seen it. simple plot, a story some people already know.

after reading a newspaper review it seems that many of the more interesting details of her life have been skipped over but you really can only put so much into a two hour movie (and obviously someone that is the nations favorite pin up girl for years has a lot of stories to tell).

i watched this the other night. It's worthy of being a straight to dvd to release but still a fun film to see anyways. Nothing overly complicated about it, i liked the way the almost got that 50's/60's feel to the actual film quality without losing modern clarity.

I definitely want the soundtrack to it.
