i don't know if it will make it to many other countries but it's possible because of the reception of ong bak and the protector (tom yam kung) which opened a bit the doors to the rest of the world
the thai title means "stuborn, pretty and ferocious" (ดื้สวยดุ)
as you can guess buy both the original and the english title, the movie's not here to stimulate your neurons
but that's not the point
thai cinema is in my opinion pathetic, so when something's noteworthy, let's not ignore it
the main actress is the taekwondo prodigy Yanin Vismitananda who was first seen in the movie Chocolate (the thai one)
the movie was actually made for her
in that the producers saw how gifted she was (as a martial artist) when she was around 14 and they decided to prepare a movie for her and gave her 4 more years to practice
the result was impressive
about the new one, let's not talk about the story (not bad), the acting (ok), or the rest cause if you're going to try to find this movie, that means you want to see the martial arts in it
if i remember correctly, in chocolate there were no strings involved
in this one i suppose there are... or the artists are beyond incredible
anyway, even with strings they are totally amazing
but to the point. i'm only posting this thread to inform martial arts afficionados that they have the opportunity to see scenes with a combination of taekwondo, muay thai, caipoera... and break dancing
usually i'm not into break dancing (i don't find it aesthetic) but here, the combination came out good, nice and interesting
so if you're curious, give it a try
