jay and silent bob strike back

why? i ask why did i waste 2 hrs of time when about 5 mins of that movie was good. i was very disapointed was anyone else?

I thought the movie was very entertaining! And I personally think that this is the best Kevin Smith film to EVER come out!!!

In almost every Kevin Smith film you only get to see Jay & Silent Bob for like 10 minutes. Sometimes, I would just see their roles and then turn the movie off because the rest of their other movies dont even come close to being funny as those two characters.
I was extremely disappointed in Chasing Amy because Jay & Silent Bob were the only ones that made it look interesting.

Worst Smith movie.
I don't like it very much. The only part I enjoy is the Jungle Love singing about drug dealing

Second best Smith film next to "Dogma".
I thought it was a funny film but I have to admit I know as many people that didn't like it as I do people that did.
You have to be into Smith's style to enjoy the films, it's another one of those films where you totally love it or totally hate it, nothing really in between.

yep, this *was* the worst kevin smith film, but it was still enjoyable in a big dumb kinda way. the thing is, most people (having only seen this, and *not* the rest of his films) don't realise just how intelligent smith can be (and is) in his films - this is definitely not up to the standard set by clerks and mallrats. perfect slacker gen-x humour in those ones - and chasing amy is actually quite a clever little relationship picture, too.

eww dogma and this one are by far the worst smith movies. smith seems like he kinda sold out or just doesnt mind making 'average' movies instead of 'edgy' like his first three

^^^ nah, dogma's fun :)

it might be a little cornier than the others, but it's just smith having fun with the road-trip idea. i guess i can see how some don't like it though, giant shit monsters aren't everyone's cup of tea.

yeah i know edgy was a bad word.. i dunno dogma had some racy religious stuff but the movie was generic hollywood style imo as far as the style. mallrats had a bit of this same kind of generic style but he still relied on dialogue with mallrats. dogma has some good dialogue but it's just not as good imo

I don't like listing the "worse" label on Smith's movies. I liked them all in their own respect...though I will say Clerks is by far my favorite of all with Mallrats a distant second. Jay and Silent Bob was a great finale to the Jersey series, an over-the-top Mallrats imo.

^^^ I don't either, I like all of Smith's movies, and don't care to judge them against the others. I think most people who didn't like Dogma don't have a deep understanding of how the catholic faith works. Most average people won't get 1/4 of the biblical references. I think all of his movies are great, and yeah, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back are all dick and fart jokes and gay jokes, but they're all done brilliantly. :D

I rank the ones I have seen like so:
1. Clerks
2. Dogma
3. Chasing Amy
4. Mall Rats
5. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back

though i'm an atheist, i went to catholic high school so i got all of the religious jokes.. i still thought it wasnt that good.. maybe if i believed in that stuff the movie would have been more powerful but it was all just a fantasy "good vs evil" movie to me

Dogma is as dialogue-heavy as all of his other films, and I don't really see how you can compare Dogma with mallrats, I think Dogma is a little more content heavy and supposed to be serious....since they are trying to stop the negation of all existance.

This is one of my favorite Smith Movies next to CLERKS. IMHO it was extremely hillarious and warrants many viewings. Its one of those flicks that I gotta watch if I happen to flip through a channel and its on (even though I own the DVD).
All the deleted scenes and extras that he threw on the DVD makes it a must own.
I love all of Mr SMiths stuff, even the animated CLERKS episodes. I had the extreme pleasure of viewing them on the movie screen at the VULGARTHON (VIEWASKEW Movie festival hosted by SMith) a couple years back- the memories still bring joy to my heart.
If you are a fan I highly suggest you pick up some of his comic books as well. Chasing DOGMA was very good (starts where MALLRATS left off and leads up to Dogma) and the lost CLERKS episode (it shows what took place at the funeral parlor during CLERKS). The ONI comics are sweet too.

The problem might be that it's an in-joke movie. And the plot is stoopid. But it's still enjoyable. Smith's best movie IMHO is Chasing Amy.
