I just saw this movie the other night and I thought it was pretty good. If you haven't seen it before, it's the true story of a man from, I believe Arizona, who got abducted by aliens. The encounter with the UFO was witnessed by four of his logger coworkers.
The main guy was taken on ship for 5 days. When they discovered him at a remote gas station 5 days later, doctors said the man went without food and water for 5 days, and all of the men passed a lie decector test.

Though the middle of the movie drags on a bit, the last 15 minutes I saw scared the shit outta me!!!! If you are interested in UFO phenomonon, or just like getting scared, I highly recommend it.

it may be the story he told, but it's not a true story. about the only people that believed him: the weekly world news. unsurprising, as he was a convicted con man who had already flunked a polygraph test about what happened, but there you go.

more info here.

:)

so you gave me a website called "Skeptics of Ufo's." Of course there gonna say his story is false. What about no water and food for five days?? And why did everyone in his group pass the lie-detector test?

well, your sources are a book written by a convicted con man (and the movie made from it) and the national enquirer (i goofed earlier when i credited the WWN). but if you want a couple more:

http://www.debunker.com/texts/walton.html
http://www.ntskeptics.org/1993/1993june/june1993.htm#fire

i am actually sort of surprised there isn't more material on travis walton available online, given that it's one of the more famous abduction tales (perhaps second only to barney and betty hill). even the pro-ufo sites seem to have a dearth of info about it.

I don't know, maybe it is a fake. But just because someone has a conviction doesn't mean he's not credible. My best friend has grand theft auto on his record, but that doesn't mean I don't believe anything he says.

well, if he told you that he was abducted by a UFO when (coincidentally) he was about to start losing money on his forest service contract and likely never work in the field again unless he managed to weasel out of it somehow, his FRAUD conviction perhaps may be seen as relevant.

simply put: this guy is a KNOWN LIAR. the people who support him have no problem covering up or lying about parts of his story. why anyone would think he had any sort of credibility is beyond me.

what about no food and water for 5 days? That is flirting with death, I don't think anyone would go to those lengths just to pull off a hoax.

everything supposedly happened as depicted in the movie with the exception of the alien experimentation scenes, which were devised by the film makers to inject some fear into the audience. interaction with aliens occurred according to walton, but not as depicted.

not a bad ufo cliche film. it looks fantastic. the experimentation scenes were quite scary, though i still find the grey hiding behind whitley strieber's chest of drawers in communion scarier.

That movie is nuts. I saw it as a little kid and couldn't bare to watch the whole movie. LOL

I'd like to see it now though. I just remember a part in the movie where the aliens are about to poke his eye with a syringe.
