Victor Rosa is all about the mighty dollar and fashions himself as a businessman on par with Rockefeller, Carnegie, and Bill Gates. With an iron fist, he runs a successful "street pharmaceutical" business that peddles a heroin mix he has named Empire. His beautiful fiancée, Carmen, a Baruch College student, befriends a classmate with an investment-banker boyfriend, Jack Wimmer. Victor meets Jack, and they instantly connect. Both are hard-core businessmen from two different sides of the legal fence. When Jack offers Victor a piece of the action on the stock market, he sees his ticket out of the violent streets of the South Bronx and jumps at the opportunity. But there is a bigger price to be paid than clean money for his gorgeous new Soho lifestyle. For the first time, Victor is confronted with a price tag that he will find difficult to pay.

Watched this movie on friday, and I liked it. What do you all think about it???

I thought it was kinda good. I thought John L. was better in "Spun" (even though I didn't like that movie all that much either).
I'd say it was just average, not great but not bad either.

I saw this some time ago. I usually like John Leguizamo in most films, and he was pretty good in this. Denise Richards though. I really can't stand her. I don't think she has much ability as an actor at all. Overall, it was entertaining. Nothing that hasn't been done a thousand times before, but not a bad movie by any means.

hahaha. This is the sorta movie i enjoy watching unexpectedly on late night TV or HBO...hahah. I have this B movie guilty pleasure habit btw...i definitely put this in that category lol

And even though Denise Richards is great tyo look at.....Her acting is sooo cheesy....One of the worst actresses....
