film: clockers (1995) spike lee

d: spike lee

s: harvey keitel, john turturro, delroy lindo, mekhi phifer, keith david, that guy from sopranos and goodfellas.

whilst it does carry my attention for the entire runtime, it does it in very unsatisfying ways. many elements, such as the strike's stomach problem, blase & cynical homocide detectives and the hypocritically moral drug dealers do nothing but distract from what is a semi passable whodunit.

makes me wonder what it would've been like had scorsese directed it
2/5

i think i watched about 20 minutes of it, and from what i remember, it sucked. i can't really rate though as i haven't seen it properly.
