Oh god, say it ain't so!!! I can't believe they're adapting this to film. I sincerely hope it doesn't suck (although it probably will), as it's one of my favorite novels ever. Good thing they decided to do this long after Bukowski died, or he would've likely beaten someone to death for defiling the crowning work of his hero.

The casting looks terrible. :X

Colin Farrel - Arturo Bandini
Salma Hayek - Camilla

Your thoughts?

They'll butcher it.

No way can Colin Farrel pull off Bandini as a struggling young writer.

Also I wasn't excatly picturing Salma Hayek as Fante was describing Camilla

Yep. They're also producing Factotum with Matt dilon as Charles Bukowski. Hopefully they'll be somewhat good... but I doubt it.

This is even worse news. Matt Dilon??? I didn't feel that either of these books lent theselves to the big screen.

Buk probably would have done it had it been offered while he was still alive. He was never against making a little cash.

I wonder who has the rights to all his work.

I’ll be very skeptical until I see both films.

Nothing is sacred
