As a videogame nerd whose played both of the Aliens VS Predator games, a big fan of Alien movies and Predator...I can't wait to see this movie so bad it hurts. The creator talking in the featurette really gives me some faith that it will turn out to be a good movie.

This movies been talked about for so many years. It going to have to be really good to live up tp expectations. I watched the featurette version, the concept looks interestiing, but they are going to need some serious explaining, and have a lot of back story to pull it off with out it being hokey.
 
I saw Freddy vs. Jason last night, and it was one of the most enjoyable pieces of shit ever, I'm hoping this will be the same.
Looks like fun!
 
Jesus Christ:

Resident Evil was one of the worst things I've ever looked at. You could have smeared poo with a butter knife across a piece of wax paper, then shone a spotlight through it onto the screen, and I would have been happier, and felt less cheated.

This director needs to be replaces with somebody who is past the "playing with action figures" stage.
 
W.S. Anderson truly does suck. At this point, I'm not sure how anyone can make this movie work. Hopefully, it will be campy and funny enough to be a good flick for a rainy day matinee. The Alien Director's Cut that is now playing in some theaters, on the other hand, is fantastic! It is amazing how well Alien stands up almost 25 years later. The A v. P trailer played before Alien when I saw it yesterday, and while some in the audience sounded overtly pissed (judging by their reactions) most other people just laughed. But maybe Anderson will surprise everyone and deliver a masterpiece...his track record says otherwise, though.

good thing they cant be sexy, becuase they're already predators, though it wouldn't suprise me if opne of them has enormous secondary sexual characteristics. I bet the darkest predator will die first.
 
Personal opinion....

James Cameron should direct this film....cause with Aliens and Terminator 2 under his belt as 2 of the BEST action movies of all time IMO, he needs to take this mega monumental film to the greatness it deserves.

Fox doesn't need to disapoint us again *ahem* alien resurrection

I was just joking the other night that they'll probably make an Alien Vs Predator movie soon.

I must admit that I went and saw Freddy Vs Jason the other night. Just cos I thought it might be funny.

But I don't think Alien Vs Predator will be funny. I loved the original Predator movie cos it was one of the scariest things I saw as a kid. The Alien movies I haven't given enough attention, but from what I've seen they're pretty creepy.

I would say "why do they have to make this tacky movie?!"

But I know why.. :\
 
Aliens obviously don't talk, and the Predators don't really seem to speak much from past movies, so is this movie going to lack dialog or are they going to add some cheesy American voices for them?

pull this off because if they do it'll be a great movie. I also think James Cameron would do better than Wes Anderson or whatever his name is. Resident Evil was one stinking pile of crap.
 
if the green flashing words describing the predator and alien charecteristics on the "featurette" were any indication of what the movie will be like, then the movie will be cheesy and awful and dumb.

^^^^ The green flasihing words are kinda staple in the alien movies. The computer screens in all four were predomintly green, the words on the trailers and movie poster have been either gree or white. I do agree the alien's talking would suck. The predators doing a little talking to each other in thier language, i wouldn't really mind, but they don't seem like a culture that sit's around talking about life, politics, and the weather during a hunt, so if they make them talk they better keep that shit breif. I'm just really concerned about the comming to earth every 1000 years thing, cause now they have to explain 1. why the first two movies happened so close together. and 2. how the aliens got on earth with out us running into them.

The AvP comics weren't to bad, or at least the 2 or so that i read, and the one book I read wasn't to bad either. both took place in the feature and on other planets I don't see why they couldn't use on of those story lines.
IMHO trying to tie it into earth with sum big backstory on how the've both been here before for this kind of battle. Is a big fuck up, but thats just me. And i'll be there opening weekend 2 :p I'm such a sci-fi geek
 
I'm assuming that virtually all of the dialogue will be between humans on Earth. I'm assuming they'll be in the movie, humans were the third out of the three races that you were able to play in the videogames. I never read the comics or books, are there humans in the storyline as well as aliens and predators?
 
^^ in most yes, but I think I remmber flipping through a comic, that was only the aliens and predators. Most if not all were based in the futre though. I remmber one story line that i ment to pick up but never got around to t, was a human girl becomeing a predator, they come across her on a planet being wiped out by the aliens If i remmber the back cover correctly. I thought the concept was intresting...
