Just watched this movie.

I was pleasantly suprised to see Vin Diesel step outside his mould... if ever so slightly. He held together this movie quite well, even if it didn't make a whole lot of sense. I have to say tho, I don't like the director (F Gary Gray) - both this, and the Italian Job could have been a whole lot better if they'd gotten someone else to do the job.

I'd give it 3.5 out of 5.

He didn't step out of his mold at all. Whatever emotion he feebly attempted was completely not believable. And I do agree, the movie made no sense and was poorly held together. This film was a terrible waste of time.

^ completely agree. After trying to make sense of the plot for over an hour, I just decided to give up and walk out. I needed to go to the bathroom anyway, and it was too much of a hassle to walk back in ;)

One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Besides, since when do mexicans speak spanish with a us-type accent?! 8(

film: a man apart

not gonna say much.. i was suprised when i saw this.. really good movie about the cocaine business.. if your a fan of blow, scarface, etc. this is a good one.. and if you have seen it i would like to hear what you thought about it.

really? so does this mean it isn't actually the typical vin diesel fare that we've become accustomed to? i *know* the guy can act (pitch black; boiler room) but his role selection seems to leave a lot to be desired.

how does this compare to his usual action-heavy films?

The movie has all the action you would expect out of a diesel flick but it has much more also. Timothy Olyphant plays a big ego L.A coke dealer. The guy is a very underrated actor and for some reason plays a drug dealer in many flicks (he was the dealer in GO). While it does not get into the drug rings all that much it is a great action/coke movie.
Check out the dvd you might just enjoy it.
