festival death due to " Benzo Fury" ?

Is it a coincidence your avatar lemming is carrying a machine gun? I think not. It's for the bullets he's sweating.

The tox report still isn't back so no one knows what all he could have taken yet.
We know he only took one pellet as well as a little mdma the morning before and god knows how much alcohol.
My other friend took at least 3 BF pellets but nothing else apart from alcohol.

So... just winging it here... ALL those suffering adverse reactions to normally "safe" Benzo Fury/6-APB were drinking "God knows how much alcohol"..?

We may have pinned down a possible cause of the adverse reactions at this particular event! Mixing alcohol with ill-researched stimulant compounds is NOT recomended!

I can't imagine how you could manage to kill yourself on MDMA - to me it's as safe as drinking a glass of orange juice.

I think a lot of the stories are like "MDMA user died" and then 10 years later you hear the second part of the story was "He was dancing on a 15 storey ledge wearing slippy loafers on a wet night". And you've spent the last 10 years believing "Ecstasy is really dangerous".

They were probably also wearing highly conductive shoes whilst plugging their fingers into the festivals electricity generator. That's not to be recomended whilst on 6-apb either.

Blimey. Now there's a rarity. The media hardly ever bothers to go back and correct the hysterical bullshit they initially pump out whenever there's a headline-friendly drug-related fatality. Although, as ever, there's still some pretty ridiculous "information" being punted by people who really should know better...

Kenny Simpson, a drugs expert with the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency, said the alcohol was most likely to have played a role.

He said: “In my experience of dealing with these incidents, problems associated with ecstasy arise because they are taken after the user has had their fill of alcohol.

“On top of that, no-one knows what they are getting – it’s more common now to see ecstasy tablets that are only 1 to 3% pure with the rest being glucose and sugar.”

I don't believe that for a second. Why the fuck would anybody press pills with "1-3%" MDMA and inert fillers? You may as well just press pure filler, surely? Isn't the problem with "ecstasty deaths" still mostly down to dodgy active cuts? (And the usual Leah Betts' kinda stuff to do with bad info about fluid intake and the like.)

The Jersey Evening Post have had a series of articles this week about the dangers of "so called legal highs" as they keep referring to them as. All the articles have been the usual Daily Mail style bullshit.

Benzo Fury was made Class B in Jersey last year after a death was blamed on it.

http://www.thisisjersey.com/news/2013/02/05/don’t-gamble-with-your-life/

From speaking people who know the lad who died, it seems he had been up for 2 days partying already and also taking MXE and Coke (and maybe other shit too) & drinking a lot before taking the 15 (yes...fifteen!!!)
Benzo Fury pills claimed by the media!

Interestingly the toxicology report hasn't been mentioned in any of the media reports at all...

Shitty article. Great comments though. Easily 75% or more pointing out the reason the lad died (given the only info they have is that he was taking "Benzo Fury") is that he took 15 of the fukkers. If that really is the case - and he'd been up for days on MXE and coke - it's hardly a surprise he didn't live to tell the tale. Legalisation and education is the only way to reduce the number of such situations from ever happening. Is encouraging so many "normal" people are starting to realise this and talk about it publicly. Even if it is just in the comments section of online newspapers.

Today's Jersey Evening Post article focuses on the "Deadly New Drug" that is about to hit Jersey's streets "Methoxetamine Pills"!!! (MXE was banned in Jersey last year too)

I think you can guess the standard of the rest of the journalism...

Dunno whether to laugh or cry at that one. How fukkin thick are journos for fuck's sake? Literally seconds on Google is all it would take to avoid the vast majority of the downright moronic shit they make up. Google is clearly not their friend 8)

Then again, it's not like actual factual or even vaguely true stories have much interest to the average journalist. It's all about scare stories and "moral crusades" and such shite. The truth of a story is simply an annoyance to be avoided at all costs.

The article had a photo of some of the those dodgy PMA pills, and obviously it would be a lot more sensible warning about the possibilities of a batch of them turning up! The quality of drugs is so low over here the kids would be popping them like smarties and dropping like flies!

There didn't seem to be too many problems when MXE was legal in Jersey, i know quite a few people who were ordering it with out too many problems. Haven't heard of any here since the ban!

None about on the mainland either (at a "street level" stylee anyway) afaik. This is why the good lord invented overseas vendors ;)

In Jersey, eh? Don't suppose you know TheKid do ya? He'd be the rich fella with a penchant for cocaine (when he can get away with it). Do wish he'd pop in and say "hello" again sometime. Been ages since he was regular here :(

Pee Ess: Is okay. I don't actually expect you to know everybody who has ever taken drugs who lives in the Channel Islands but thougt it worth a passing ask. Think it was Guernsey actually. Whichever of 'em has the most appealing tax bands anyway ;)

If TheKid is from Guernsey and doing lots of Coke he's probably been nicked and serving a long stretch by now. However bad Jersey is, Guernsey is twice as bad! Their sentencing policy aint too far off Singapore standards.

That's the one thing about the Channel Islands, because the borders and population are so small, they are actually much more effective with their "war on drugs" to a certain degree. There is fuck all real crime for the coppers to worry about so much of their time is spent chasing after kids selling a few bits and bobs to mates. The downside to that is that people drink much more than the UK and the suicide rate is ridiculously high, and obviously everyone just orders Legal Highs/RC's (If they can get them past the specialist Customs "Legal High Squad").

Jersey used to be a really nice, chilled, very cheap place to live in the old "Bergerac" days when the Tourism Industry was at it's peak, but since it's decline and replacement by the Finance Industry the Island has just attracted the sort of wankers that Finance attracts, become very corrupt and more expensive than London.

In the 90's when i was a teenager, you used to have no problems getting good drugs here, still twice the UK price, but normally very good quality. Was a lot harder for Police and Customs to be on the ball with so many "tourists" bringing stuff in.

It's been 6 weeks since i've seen any Pot, and nearly 6 years since i've come across any pills with any decent amount of MDMA in (although i have heard a rumour of some nice RockStars going around). People with more money than sense are paying £80g for 1% pure coke (jersey average purity over the last year or so), so the Legal RC scene is a godsend here! I was more than happy with Benzo Fury and MXE before they got banned!

If you fancy a house swap, i've always wanted to move to Wales =D
