Opioids Fentanyl (not Rx) Northern New England supply issue?

Hello, I live in northern New England and I have been using illicit Fent due to having lost my doctor because of the "crisis". I tried for years to find a new doctor but no one would take on new chronic pain patients.

I had been doing fine with what I was able to find. It was always consistent. However, lately what I have been able to find has been making myself and other sick with symptoms of a flu, cold, &/or sinus infection.

Myself and others snort the powder which then causes our noses to produce an insane amount of snot/mucus. I mean, I go through about two boxes of Tissues or more in less than a day!

We also experience feeling feverish, headaches, and also it's as if we haven't taken anything at all.

We have to blow our noses so much that our nostrils have cracked and bleed.

Does anyone know if it's possible for the powder to have become contaminated by a virus? Or, have any idea why this would be happening? I have never experienced anything like it before. It's so bad that I'd rather experience WD symptoms than do any more of it.

You sure you’re not going into WD cause the fents bunk? I’ve seen addicts, myself included, continuing to take shit that they’re sure isn’t what it’s supposed to be in the pursuit of getting well. It’s been a while since I’ve been in WD from short-acting opiates but remember almost always having flu-like symptoms. Though with fent I’ve heard WD is much faster so maybe you’d be full dope sick by now, maybe it’s just extra ultra weak shit?

Anyway I get you’re a CP patient and you’re probably out of options but there’s gotta be something other than street fent. I know all too well that it can go from bunk to no longer breathing in seconds, even more so when shit like you’re experiencing happens and you’re itching to get a good bag. All sense can go out the window when you’re hurting

You know, I thought this exact same thing a few weeks ago because all of us users developed flu like symptoms (body aches, feverish, hacking cough, coughing mucus, lethargic, etc.). It coincidentally started when our supply in Southern California started getting bunk and tasting horrible, what I’ve been referring to as “toilets water fent”.

I heard one theory that it is because so many of the precursors to make illicit fent are getting harder and harder to come by, cooks are using methods that are less than ideal to replicate the necessary reactions and the chemicals they’re using as substitutes were causing these symptoms. Other than that, which is just a theory, I kind of attributed it to it being harder to come by, so more of us were meeting up to score together, sharing pipes and touching the rocks, and flu season just started so probably just passed the flu around easily. Anyway, I thought I had pneumonia or bronchitis, but it’s gone away now or at the very tail end. Stuff is still mostly bunk though which sucks

Don’t quote me on this, but apparently majority of street fentanyl(and meth) is supplied by Mexican cartels now and due to some civil war going on production had slowed for a while, might still be slowed idk. It would explain the pretty much nationwide shortages, or if not quite a “shortage” an increase in bunk shit for both drugs which I’ve heard a lot about.

But your theory of people flooding dealers en mass and spreading some type of illness is a good one IMO. A bunch of dope sick people that have been waiting ages for a dose all hitting up the few people that have some all around the same time is a good way to spread an illness fast
