Firstly, I didn't see anything on the search, so my apologies if I did anything wrong, and please move it to where it belongs.

So what's your favorite sleeping medicine? I'd say for all three mine would be Ambien. It's given me some crazy times and gave me a restful night of sleep afterwards , and I feel perfectly refreshed when I wake up. It's also been the craziest with mild hallucinations and oh I love that warm fuzzy feeling I get when it first sets in! That's my favoritte part, it just calms me down so much. What about you?

Again, I'm new, so sorry if my ballad to Ambien is misplaced.

However, I'm thinking about trying something else just to see what's out there. Nothing I've tried so far has been all that pleasant...trazodone practically hurts to stay awake on, it's like torture, haha. Lunesta didn't do a thing for me.

What have you had good/bad experiences with? Any that mix well with other drugs?
 
Best for inducing sleep: zolpidem (Ambien)
Best for maintaining sleep: temazepam (Restoril)
Best for quality of sleep: GHB
Best for long term use: temazepam
Best for recreational use: temazepam

You can see I'm quite partial to temazepam.

I've also used Seroquel, trrazodone, diphenhyrdramine, and hydroxyzine. These work well but I would only use them occasionally, because of toleance issues or side effects, such as hangover effect or RLS.
 
Never had temazepam. Can I ask what particularly is it useful for recreationally? Can you compare it to anything?

I was thinking about Seroquel too, but I don't *think* it was especially fun. Was a long time ago though....I just remember it knocking me out pretty damn well.
 
recreationally: Bromazepam (though this is not a hypnotic a good anxiolytic like this can help tremendously with sleep too)
therapeutically: lormetazepam
'most trippy': none, I don't get that trippy feeling from zolpidem
 
i dunno why more people don't mention zopiclone, it is the fucking best for this fucked up trippy dreamy state that people seek out. It has that nasty metallic taste to it but you'll grow to like it.


^seriously you do get used to it lol i can drink milk afterwards and not want to kill myself now.

i find zopiclone very recreational at doses over 15mg, it's fucked up to wake up and take all your sleep meds to enjoy your day but it makes for a very strange and surreal experience.

and like all z-drugs,benzos,gabaergics, the fun eventually wears off and you are fucked over at the end, but that's part of the fun i guess.

least favourite sleep aids: trazadone (doesn't work 9/10 times and if it does i have the worst sleep ever) followed by seroquel, knocks you the fuck out and then some. I hate it yet still use it sometimes.

some antihistamines are good for actual sleep like doxylamine, they provide a much different recreational experience than a z drug tho.

The only time I've ever taken ambien I was spending the night at a friends house and ended up waking up in the middle of the night. For some reason, I went straight to her fridge and ate a bunch of this sort of gross (funfetti) cake we had make together. I was just shoveling it out of the baking pan with my hands, like a total pig! I felt sick the next day.
 
I had amitriptyline prescribed as a sleeping aid- I absolutely hated it.
 
I hate AmBien. I wrecked my blazer driving on it back in 2007. I'm happy they now put "sleep driving and eating" on the warning label now, I thought I was crazy. And almost burned my house down one night while on it burning sugar in a pan on my stove trying to make candy. Ambien is so weird, i hate it and i would always wake up a few hours after taking it.

Love Seroquel. Its the first med i request whenever i go to jail.

Basically this^ except swap out GHB (never tried it) with mirtazapine. Mirtazapine is also great for long term use.
 
Mirtazapine is not great if you have no need to take an antidepressant. I absolutely hate it for sleep. Ive gone from 30mg down to 7.5mg and still sleep way too much and always wake up foggy.
 
Most trippy - Zaleplon, drifting off to sleep while watching my furniture come to life and whispering to one another? Yes please.
Best overall - Temazepam, slept like a baby in a hospital bed, in a position I normally can't sleep in
Best OTC- Doxylamine, keeps me asleep all night
OTC when the above fails - Alcohol, good for vacations when you're sleeping around other people.
Instant knockout - GBL, you can't not passout on the right dose.
Best for napping - Phenazepam, take it to sleep one night, sleep a bunch the next day too!
Most recreational - GBL, probably my favorite drug for daily use, period...Haven't had any since late 2010 :(

I have tried benzos, opiates, anti-histamines, DXM, GHB, anti depressants, anti-psychs..... Probably just about anything that has sedative properties to sleep.

I currently take a mixture of melatonin, clonazepam, diazepam, xanax, mirtazapine, gabaprentin, sometimes clonidine...I go to bed nice and tripped out. But I still have problems sleeping taking all those things, and still wake up too fucking early.

DXM and benzos are a nice trip/sleep thats for sure!! Temazepam is wicked fun especially mixing with an opiate or a FEW drinks - But i like the feeling so much i often stay awake lol

I am obviously an insomniac! But i just got clean from opiates. When i was using opiates i used to like flunitrazepam...But its really hard to get in this country coz its used as a date-rape drug. They minimised the dosage tablets they prescribe and come in green (so you can tell if your drink is being spiked) and make your mouth turn green if you put them under your tongue lol, i used to wake up with green mouth my gf was always like wtf is up with your mouth hahahaha

pills i liked for sleep were: xanax, valium, klonopin, resotoril, pretty much any benzo i can get ahold of n ambien and trazadone

thought that soma woulda been better for sleep n attempted a soma coma when my coke dealer gave me a handful for free when i asked him for xanax, but even without the coke i didnt get the effects from soma like i used to

used to love dph with my dope, tried a few the other week by themselves for sleep n what a worthless waste of crap, maybe i built up a tolerance to it (lot of dope i used to use was cut with dph) but it gave me a wierd head feeling, like not a head ache but an odd pressure n the top of my head n it still took forever to go to sleep

haha, when i got housed in dallas county n went to the initial infirmary check in i told the Dr i was prescribed adderall lisinopril n xanax (im only prescribed the addys n the lisinopril) n he gave me clonidine n ativan, i was just happy to get a benzo while in jail n on top of that i had a sub strip in my wallet that they didnt take, notice or charge me with when i went in and in Dallas county you stay dressed n keep your belongings for awhile before they give you your oranges n take your stuff so i had some bupe n some clonidine (for a blood pressure med it makes me feel ok, like not high n i wouldnt abuse it but its better then lisinopril) n some ativan, not bad for bein in jail if you ask me

felt bad tho when this one dude was throwin up all over himself dopesick n i had just takin my sub strip just cuz i had it (was over a month or 2 clean at the time it was just still in my wallet)
 
^ I end up eating everything in the house when I have seroquel!! ALthough i did sleep ok on it i put on weight....thats the probs with anti-psychs.
 
Oh I forgot to mention midazolam. Its really hard to get and generally only used in hospitals (I got mine while the doctors/nurses weren't watching the cabinet lol). By far the BEST sleep i have ever had. 12 hours +
