[Jabberwocky]

I know I've already had more than enough
I'm up against the wall
the firing squad is ready
and then I'm given a minute to think
lucky reprieve
my lungs expel another cloud of smoke with little effort
my cat releases a struggling mouse hiding behind the firing wall
pity, he must think,
while contemplating my scheduled death
pity for us all

I'm still alive
I feel like I've been overlooked
checks and balances, death's pointing finger,
I'm one anxious motherfucker, and greedy,
an immaculate prototypical drunk
sharing this smelly bedroom with a cat
I start pissing myself, then they ask me for some words,
all that shit starts pouring out of me
awkwardly smiling, pretending I deserve to live
just as much as the next man
