Depends upon how you store it. The acids and mixtures contained within the reagents will break down over time, that's unavoidable. However, the rate at which they do depends upon allot of factors, mainly, maintaining a constant temperature.

I've heard of kits lasting as long as two years.

Cool, dark and upright. For instance in the fridge (not the freezer).

The only way I would see you having a problem with this is if you lived with roommates. DO make sure that the caps are screwed on tightly before storing.
