Extreme MDMA tolerance causing tolerance to acid?

So basically, I recently discovered acid.

It's a really fun drug... don't get me wrong. Awesome stuff.

However, the reason I decided I wanted to do it was because I heard it was great for music. I've always craved the way ecstasy made music sound, and I've sought to get it back.

So I've dosed acid like 10 times now in the past 2 or 3 months... and I still have yet to be really taken away by its effect on music :/ In fact, it's hardly worth saying it makes it sound better at all.

Could my extreme tolerance to MDMA be the problem?

^ No it has a the way acid affects you body is compleatly different. It can be that since ecstasy made music sound amazing nothing can really compare. I know weed can make music great but it is no comparison to what ecstasy does.

Unlikely.

At least IME, MDMA and Acid enhance music in entirely different ways. MDMA tends to make music simply sound richer and more textured--it makes music sound like that much more of what it already is (i.e. it literally "enhances" or "exaggerates" all the positive qualities of music) whereas the music enhancement I experience with LSD and a number of other psychedelics (2C-E being the first to come to mind) isn't even particularly auditory. Rather, I feel a deep, spiritual and sometimes creative connection to music. I think it's possible, then, if my experience can be extended to yours, that if you're expecting LSD to enhance music in the same way MDMA does, you'll continue to be disappointed. However, if you're willing to drop those expectations and allow the LSD to play with music the way IT wants to, I think you might be quite pleasantly surprised. :)

What kind of doses are you taking of LSD ?

And how long did you wait to take the LSD after the MDMA ?

Unless your dosing them within a few days apart , it isn't a tolerance issue

You may just need to take a higher dose of LSD to achieve the effects you desire

Thanks for the quick responses guys, it's nice to know there's not anything wrong with me haha.

I'm taking two to three hits of acid. Strong visuals and everything, so I know it's good.

And I haven't taken MDMA in a few months.

Maybe it just doesn't make music sound better for you. I personally think music sounds worse on MDMA and that definitely goes against "conventional" wisdom.

If you're not prone to having problems with cannabis I find that it can greatly help the musical appreciation while on LSD.

You dont find that it makes music a 100 times better , I always have

LSD is my favorite drug to take at a concert or event , I love the long duration without redosing too

honestly just take what you plan on doing and enjoy it, if you look too much sometimes because you EXPECT it, it may never come. Unless of course you dose yourself something proper like a 10 strip THEN YOU HAVE NO CHOICE lol

I find that MDMA doesn't really enhance music it just seems like it - but what it does for me is increase my appreciation for it pretty unconditionally.

With LSD it is much more conditional and real: music can be awesome for a reason, you can often analyse it deeply and follow every single layer and love how they work together. Initially your appreciation is not increased but you can achieve that yourself putting on the right kind of music and "really going into it" !

Like another poster said, LSD and MDMA are completely different in how they make music sound. MDMA can make say, Lady Gaga sound epic and magnificent. Pretty much anything besides Death Metal sounds amazing on MDMA. While I'm tripping, I am very particular about music. It tends to make "softer" music like Beatles/America/Grateful dead become one with your psyche, enveloping you and taking you to another place mentally. Different completely but its hard for me to say why the OP's LSD tirps are not making music better.

I would say MDMA also enhances music and doesn't "just" make it sound awesome. Layers are so much better on MDMA and the bass literally feels divine. In general, MDMA adds a great deals of depth and intensity to music. You don't have to listen to hardcore or hardstyle on MDMA you know.

I think acid will help you feel the music, but it's definitely a little different from MDMA. Try combining MDMA and acid perhaps?

I've never noticed any significant cross-tolerance between MDMA and LSD and my MDMA tolerance would most certainly be described as "extreme" by anybody :D

Sounds more like the dose was underwhelming or the effects were maybe not what you were expecting from acid. Probably a lil of both. I'd also second the notion of LSD + MDMA + music of your choice = bliss :)

Yeah I can't wait to candy flip, I've got all the proper materials and I'm just waiting a few months for my tolerance to go way down :)

I mean it's not like there's NO enhancement, it does sound much deeper and there are more emotional connections to the music, I guess I was just expecting to be balls-out engrossed like I was by MDMA.

for me lsd enhances music much more than mdma. with mdma music sounds fuller and a lot of bass sounds (and feels!) amazing, but lsd takes music to a wholly different level.
