I wanted to start a new thread on this since there are quite a few phentermine threads and I wanted to make sure people actually see this.
Yesterday throughout the course of the day I took approximately 5 37.5mg tabs. The only reason I even attempted this was because I had a supply of temazepam to help balance out the negative sides and actually (maybe) get some sleep.
The experience reports I read leading up to this ranged from people saying they got extreme euphoria off this stuff to no high at all, just predominately negative side effects. IMO, if you are a fan of amphetamines, or stims in general, you WILL get a legit high from this stuff. I took 30 mg of temazepam mid day annd it worked perfectly to smooth out the rough elements of high doses of this stuff, and I was high as hell. It felt like I did A LOT of shitty to medium grade coke or ritalin, but it also was reminiscent of amphetamines as well in that it lasted much longer and put me in "the zone" for lack of better words. The temazepam allowed me to stay high for much longer because it eliminated the negative sides towards the end of the day which would normally shift you to more of a negative mind-frame. I was almost too high. I was texting everyone in my phone book and looking for every opportunity to make posts on Facebook and try to strike up conversations with people. Looking back I said some pretty off the wall stuff which I now regret.
If you aren't a fan of stims, no need to worry, phentermine will not appeal to you. In terms of the euphoria I felt, it was up there with high doses of adderall, only the ratio of euphoria to negative peripheral effects was way worse. Imagine taking 60 mg of adderall but experiencing the negative sides you would normally get from 120. THIS is why most people here will tell you it's not worth it. However, this is not to say that the actual high is not legit.
The thing is, you HAVE to add some benzos or a lot of lyrica, kratom and / or phenibut to the mix to even make it worth it. I can understand why people drink on phentermine, because on its own I can see that it would be a pretty harsh ride. However I would highly advise not to use alcohol to smooth out a phentermine high / comedown due to the fact that phentermine, even with the temazepam gave me really bad tachardia, and alcohol would make it even worse, not to mention the acute wd's from alcohol which I would imagine would lead to a much worse comedown / hangover.
At about 3 am I took another 45 mg of temazepam, thinking it might help me get some sleep, but even after the 45 mg (with 30 already in my system), I was no where close to being able to sleep. It definitely helped me feel more relaxed, but my heart was still pounding like I just finished a hard cardio sesh. I could barely keep my eyes closed - just like when your trying to sleep on meth and your eyes keep flickering open. I was also experiencing paranoia and delusions similar to a meth comedown (thinking my relatives were spying on me, convinced that they had hidden cameras in the smoke detectors and were watching me on theeir computer). And this was only from ONE day of a phentermine binge!
Also, another downside for me was that on meth or even adderal / dex comedowns porn can still keep me really happy. With phentermine, porn was only slightly better than when you are sober, and even harder to get off compared to the true amphetamines / meth! So I wasn't having much fun at all, just basically in a trance and using porn to keep my mind busy on something. Only when you think your relatives are spying on you it makes watching porn even less fun.
As you can tell from the long winded post, I am STILL pretty wound up from my phentermine binge. The thing is though, the euphoric effects dissipate way earlier relative to the overall trip compared to the other more popular stims, so you are left with a comedown / body load which seems to last forever. As a result you would end up having more insomnia and lack of appetite compared to a dose of meth for example that provides you with the same level of euphoria. And it goes without saying that not eating and sleeping enough only compound the comedown. I just took another 60 mg of temazepam hoping to get some sleep (1 pm), and I'm still feeling crazy wound up. I also took some kratom, 1200 mg of lyrica, and 4 grams of phenibut, and all these things combined are barely putting a dent in slowing me down - and instead they're more or less just making me feel better.
SUMMARY FOR THOSE WHO DON"T WANT TO READ MY WHOLE POST:
Non stimulant fans: no chance you will like phentermine, forget about it.
Stimulant fans: Phentermine WILL give you a profound high at doses of at least 75 mg, but don't even think about venturing at or above this dose without plenty of benzos on hand. IMO this is the ONLY way taking recreational doses of phentermine is even worth it. Even when I took a total of 135 mg of temazepam I was STILL tweaking in an unpleasant way, with a crazy bad body load. I couldn't imagine coming down off recreational doses of phentermine without benzos, or probably opiates. I think this is why most BL members here will tell you phentermine is garbage, because they aren't factoring in how benzos can help with the sides, leading to a predominately euphoric high vs. a predominately edgy high without.
In terms of HR, if you don't have any benzos, don't even think about trying to get high off phentermine. Phentermine, on it's own IMO produces roughly double the negative sides in proportion to the euphoria you'll get compared to dex or meth, maybe more. Hopefully this post will save someone thinking about getting high on phentermine without any benzos on hand a lot of psychological and physiological stress!
