Benzos etizolam - before surgery

a minor surgery, and the day before that is..

having all my wisdom teeth extracted tomorrow, procedure at 10am.
I am being put to "sleep" or anesthetized", I am not sure with what
but they said i can haz the gas

would there be any interaction for me to take etizolam tonight? (reason not too)
i have to take valium at 9:30am the next day before too

I extremely nervous to be put to sleep, i have stopped my other drug use like mxe weeks prior to this,
but i definitely need some help with my nerves tonight :sus:

Very, very bad idea, are you kidding? You're getting NO gas and they already have you taking a benzo! If you are nervous, tell them in advance, and if you chose the take the etizolam, definitely tell them. They don't take random street drugs in to account when setting up an anesthesia plan, so it's up to you let them know.

This is unless you have 12-16 hours before the surgery to dose the etizolam, not familiar with its lingering effects and half life, though, so quote me on this.
 
Hes getting conscious sedation. Its where they IV a benzo into you so you FORGET everything (benzo amnesia) but are conscious during the procedure and can respond to commands (open mouth wider, close mouth, etc). EM is jumping the gun there, its not ANESTHESIA as hes thinking, its just a IV benzo cocktail.

I took like a .25mg or .5mg xanax that morning. Not a lot, I wouldn't say you'll have any problems taking such a small dose in combo with the benzo they give you. Just dont over do it....I obviously took a VERY SMALL dose of xanax.

I got wisdom teeth pulled, they gave me nitrous while they IV'd the benzo into me. I think they do this b/c some people are nervous about needles and procedure and all that shit, as you yourself are professing to be. I love drugs so I was more excited for the first time I got to do nitrous (they gave me the mask and said huff untill youre good, i kept huffing alright..), and my first IV benzo. I remember the entire procedure, (unlike most who forget due to the benzo). But let me tell you it was AWESOME.

Sis just got her wisdom teeth pulled this week. They did the same thing to her.

Also signalled the start of my opiate addiction so that part sucked.
 
I think it is a decent idea if you are going to be nervous. Its so hard to OD on benzos, and they usually hook you up with benzos anyway. Its seriously not that risky and tons of patients do this. A lot of dentists I know even give a small script to be filled for a benzo so you can take it before hand. Also when I've had surgeries, they give me xanax no problem, then in pre-op hook me up with as much midazolam as I want.

Basically taking benzos before surgeries are a standard practice. There really isn't much risk, but if you want to tell your doc you took a small amount of benzos before hand feel free.
