As I have recently joined Bluelight, I figured it would be appropriate to submit a trip report from last night. First off, here are some things to consider... The thread title reads 'Novice', but this is to indicate my experience level with these substances being mixed and the particular drug. I have been prescribed Klonopin on and off for a couple years as an anticonvulsant, but have never mixed it with significant amounts of alcohol or taken more than the prescribed dose. As for the beer alone, I would consider myself an expert, though not exactly proud of it. As per the rules, I will leave out brands/sources and use descriptors. Here we go...

Substances Used

1. Etizolam 1mg x 3 (Pharmaceutical Grade Tablets From a Blister Pack In a Box)
2. Beer 22 fluid ounces (10% ABV From a Lovely Corked Bottle)
3. Beer 12 fluid ounces x 5 (5% ABV From a Can)

Time-Frame

T: 0:00 - Initial ingestion of one 1mg Etizolam tablet

T: 0:40 - Initial onset. I felt a very mild sense of calm. At this point, there was no euphoria, sedation or drowsiness.

T: 1:30 - At this point, the feeling had become slightly more pronounced. There was a sense of relaxation, but I was still fully aware of the conversations I was having. My inhibitions were lowering slightly, but I usually have no filter, so it was a bit hard to tell.

T: 2:00 - I ingested one more 1mg Etizolam tablet and washed it down with a can of beer to try and enhance the effects. The initial effects from the first tablet remained steady.

T: 2:15 - I downed another beer hoping to increase the synergistic effects.

T: 2:30 - The effects of both the alcohol and extra tablet were becoming pronounced. I was still very social and holding conversations, but I was clearly a bit inebriated. At this point I decided to start pouring glasses of beer from the corked bottle. Ahh, a delicious mocha stout. I actually seemed to enjoy it more than the norm which was a pleasant surprise.

T: 3:00 - I felt moderately sedated and quite happy. I ingested one final Etizolam tablet and washed it down with a glass of beer. I then proceeded to return the blister pack to the box and lock it in my medicine cabinet. I knew compulsive redosing was a major concern for this drug and didn't want to do any serious harm.

T: 4:00 - At this point, I felt very euphoric and happy. I was slurring my speech a bit, but still able to hold a conversation. My father stopped by to criticize me and he got quite heated when I told him some news contradictory to what a friend of his had told him. He took it as a personal attack on his friend. For the first time in a long time I was able to be calm and collected and diffuse the situation rather than having to ask him to leave. I offered him a beer, but he declined and left after hugging it out.

T: 4:30 - This is where things get interesting. I had one of those famous benzo-blackouts (or in this case thienotriazolo-blackouts) that I have heard so much about. I was still awake, drinking beer, and talking to people and from what I was told, I was quite entertaining and not in an embarrassing way.

T: 5:00 - Despite it only having been 9:30PM, I was exhausted. It would seem it was a combination of waking up rather early that morning, the Etizolam and the alcohol. I decided to call it a night and go to bed. Within a minute I was asleep.

T: 12:00 - I woke up this morning feeling incredibly refreshed and looked at my phone to see that I had planned a lunch with a friend I haven't seen in two years.

In retrospect, I feel lucky about this whole experiment. Nothing but good came of it. I have read quite a few stories of people blacking out and doing terrible things or even getting arrested. I doubt I will ever take that chance again, but I am glad I took it at least once for the life experience.
