I dunno, I don't even consider a song "long" unless it's over ten minutes or so (That Slint song is amazing, though).

This is always the first one that comes to mind: Jethro Tull - "Thick As A Brick"

And Mono - "The Flames Beyond the Cold Mountain"

Most Godspeed! You Black Emperor songs are pretty long, but this is one of my favorites: GYBE - "Storm"

maggot brain by funkadelic, its THE song. this reggae rock band i really like has supposedly recorded a 17 minute jam song. i havent heard it yet.

King Crimson - Starless is an epic song with a long guitar solo of a single note.

Guns N Roses - November Rain is a love it or hate it song. I love it. But the videoclip is so ridiculous!

Yes - Close to the Edge is a must in a psychedelic mood
