FYI, there is also a product called "Bronkaid" that containes the same ingredients in the same ratio, but with 25mg ephedrine HCl per tablet (I think it has 400mg guaifenesin per tab, but I can't remember for sure).
But, I have to agree with AfterGlow, ephedrine has no recreational value. 12.5-37.5mg is okay for a mild, purely physical boost. I have used 25mg+a cup of coffee before cleaning up my apartment with good results, but it doesn't make menial tasks enjoyable in the way amphetamines do. It starts getting dysphoric at 50mg for me.
As far as OTC stimulants go, propylhexedrine is far better than ephedrine in my opinion. While it generally feels similar to ephedrine overall, it actually has some amphetamine-like psychoactive effects. I would choose propylhexedrine over methylphenidate, or the (admittedly very low quality) cocaine I can get.
The body load is very high with propylhexedrine though, some people really hate the way it feels. It's probably very bad for you bacuse of the cardiovascular side effects, it's a very strong vasoconstrictor and can raise blood pressure quite a bit. I would describe the propylhexedrine high as being like a 2:1 mxture of ephedrine:methamphetamine. It can be quite euphoric at times if you can stand the physical overstimulation. If you decide to take it, research it first, and start with a low dosage! Even 125mg (half an inhaler) would be too overstimulating for some.
