empathogen-like effects on psychedelics not known to be empathogenic

On New Years I took 354mg DXM plus a few hits of smoked cannabis. I found the DXM uncomfortable and kinda boring. Soon after smoking, I felt much more comfortable then a couple minutes later I started tripping balls. Not too long after that, I started really tripping hard, in a manner similar to tryptamines and phenethylamines but with less clarity of thought and more confusion. I was not expecting to trip (I would not call DXM, at least at the dose I took, a psychedelic trip) and it was a bit of a mental adventure. When I started coming down, I felt relieved and proud of myself that I survived that unexpected journey into a strange realm.

Around 45 minutes later on my way home, I briefly felt the first empathogen-like effects when thinking of my mother. When I got home and was typing on my computer, I was reliving my AMT trip several months ago when I was in the same setting doing the same activity. My jaw started chattering/clenching and my thighs started quivering. (I also (positively) relived part of my mescaline trip around six months ago but that did not bring back any physical effects.) When I woke up the next morning after four hours of sleep, I felt emapthogen-like love for my family when I was eating breakfast and they were around. <3

Has anyone else experienced such empathogen-like love from psychedelics not known to be empathogens? Have you taken any empathogens (MDMA, MDA, AMT, AET...) before? Did you relive any part of your empathogen experience?

while i have not tasted MDMA

on high doses of mushrooms i have felt deep waves of love and empathy for my friends and family that i did not know i could feel before. i could 'hear' resonance from the thoughts and emotions that were travelling around me, and understood my own place in the creation and reception of these feelings of love and belonging.

set and setting are crucial

I've found deep states of empathy, love, and connectedness on many psychedelics, but these effects remain even when I'm not on them. I'm sober now and I still feel a deep love and unity with other people. So perhaps because of this I feel empathogenic effects on drugs that aren't normally empathogenic (eg ketamine, for me). I don't think I'm unique in this respect, though.

HBW seeds, extremely empathogenic for me. Also 5-MeO-MiPT.

I know exactly what you're talking about. I find it's a balance of psychedelics having empathogenic effects and empathogens having psychedelic effects.

I find LSD to be incredibly empathogenic at times. I find MDMA to be incredibly psychedelic at times.

Strong "traditional" psychedelics can indeed be very empathogenic; that's likely my favorite thing about them. :)

Yeah, agreed. LSD can be intensely empathogenic, as can the 2C-x's, and for certain, 5-MeO-MiPT. I find empathogenic states on psychedelics to be simply divine, part of the spirit bonding process in the astral realm, which leaves MDMA and the like in the dust.

Also, I believe the more you explore out, and take these different psychedelics, you can find empathogenic qualities in all of them. You just have to feel your way into it, rather than sit back and let the drug do all the work for you. The wost rewarding experiences are when you really participate with your entheogen, your experience. Stimulate yourself, and that is when it really comes alive.
