In memory of Eddie who died at 9AM this morning, June 26th 2025.

I mentioned someone I knew had been coughing up blood for three months and whose response was to take more gear. Then they picked up a back injury and again upped the dose. Finally they began to suffer seizures and a mutual friend took him to the hospital. In those three months Eddie had maxed out his credit with every dealer in the city because he thought he was likely to die. But in the end he was given oramorph (in spite of double pneumonia) and apparently had had a toot of H just a couple of hours before the end.

He wasn't scared of death, he was scared of suffering and I think it safe to say that while his lifestyle was what killed him, at least he managed to go out on a high... and of course, avoid debt.

I am sorry for your loss brother, it always hurts to lose someone like this. I think it is very important to remain empathetic to the struggles of others, even when they die due to a consequence of their actions.

We all have a different journey, and we all carry things differently.

RIP Eddie, How old was he?

Do you know what? Nobody knows. In his mid to late 50s I would guess.

The local newspaper ran a story but it was obvious that they didn't speak to anyone who actually was a friend.

I guess the defining feature was that he refused to accept responsibility for anything he did. it was ALWAYS someone else's fault. ALWAYS.

So well all knew it would happen.
